"I visited Stroma for the first time with my boyfriend on a Saturday night. There was music playing (Abba) when we entered but then it was cut for the rest of our visit. The waiter took our food and drinks order promptly, no complaints there. The food itself was fantastic, but we had empty drinks when the food came out and despite staff members standing at the coffee machine looking around at the fairly empty restaurant, noone offered us another round of drinks. In addition to this, when we finished our meal we weren't offered a dessert menu, and still weren't offered another drink. Whilst one could argue that we should have flagged a waiter down, there was 5 wait staff working and only 6 tables of customers. Surely customer service 101 would suggest an empty glass warrants an offer of another? Overall we would return for a takeaway meal if we were in the area, but I wouldn't recommend the restaurant for a sit down meal."

"The menu isn't extensive, but there are plenty of great options, and the toughest part was figuring out what to order. I inquired about the spiciest dish and was told it was either the Mexican or the Deperado. I opted for the Mexican, and it was absolutely delicious. Nicola had the stuffed burger, which was filled with haggis and covered in a peppercorn sauce. Ruaridh ordered the Moo Oink, while Anya had the chicken divers. We decided to share the haggis-loaded fries and nachos. Although the nachos weren't exactly what we expected, the haggis-loaded fries were fantastic. Overall, the food was very tasty and offered great value for money, as everything is fresh and made in-house. They don't have a liquor license, so if you want a drink, it's BYOB—though we didn't bring any that evening. I highly recommend trying this place out—it's a hidden gem by the sea in Montrose, and we will definitely be back!"

"what a great sound! as a new vegan I'm looking for great places to eat locally with minimal upswing, but where the dishes had thought a bit into them. I was just in montrose and found diamond lils using the HC app. I took my girls (2 8 years) and we were made to really feel welcome nic, our host. the food was fabulous. loading vegan (and veggie) options to choose from on the menu, and with vegan specialties and desserts! my girls were thrilled to find out there were vegan chocolate ice cream! I can't wait to go back. highly recommended."

"Came here as saw they had an extensive gluten free menu and wasn 't disappointed! I had three course chicken wings, chicken burger and then small sundae. Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. Only a couple of gripes on the menu it says the burger comes with coleslaw but when it came, it didn 't have any so I asked and the waitress said 'oh yeah, not anymore. ' So I paid extra for coleslaw. This is disappointing and menus should be updated to reflect this. Same with my dessert, it said it would come with a cadburys flake, and again, no flake. The gluten free menu was great for starters and mains but the desserts are really lacking, I noticed Eton mess on the main dessert menu which wasn 't on the GF menu which I thought was really strange as this is usually naturally gluten fre! Would definitely be back."

"I usually enjoy Costa cafes, but this particular one was terrible. The staff were rude, the place was dirty and disorganized. Even outside the cafe was filthy. It seems that Costa doesn't take pride in their surroundings. I regret not noticing the warning signs of the exterior before going in. An older woman who served us was visibly annoyed when I looked at the drinks menu, she shouted at me aggressively and asked what I wanted. Another staff member pushed my husband out of the way to refill the merchandise counter, it was incredibly rude. I wonder who trained these individuals? Currently, the cafe is empty with the staff huddled up chatting and relaxing, completely ignoring the dirty tables full of dirty trays. Shame on you Costa! The Montrose branch has turned me off Costa completely. I think I'll try my luck at Starbucks in the future."
