We decided to try this restaurant after trying the other Indians in teignmouth previously, I would say this one is the best, lovely crisp batter on the onion baghi starters, and one of the best saag dishes Byriani dishes we’ve had for a long time. Can't say about the atmosphere as we had a take away, though it did seem flat when I picked it up. The Tika Masala had a really strange texture, tasted odd and was luke warm, the peshwari naan was wet, soggy and uncooked. I have been in several indian restaurants in England from Southall to India but what I had at this restaurant bore not a hint of resemblance to Indian cooking and food. I never tasted a dhall which was more like bisto gravy and the curries were all of the same gravy colour. Drinks were expensive and you could buy a better curry in tesco, Aldi's etc. Food: 1

There is nothing royal about this restaurant. Abdul is extremely rude. Food is substandard and very highly priced. Drinks are ridiculous. Save your money people and order from teign Indian. Far far better food and service. Abdul trust me you won't be in business much longer if you don't change your customer service. Local people and local reviews matter..... Service: Dine in

I went with my parents to this place . Owner of the restaurant ,Abdul was very rude to us. He misbehaved with my parents and was not at all interested in entertaining us as we ordered only vegetarian dishes . He was entertaining only those who ordered liquor . Asked us to pay in cash,charged for packing left over . I would recommend not to go to this resto .I have read few other comments and everyone has said the same about owner. Speisekarte ansehen

After being a regular customer for a few years, their customer service has dramatically fallen. After waiting 2 and a half hours for delivery, they sent eventually in a taxi, after complaining Abdul said he would honour a discount next time. Upon ordering all I was offered was free delivery which resulted in £2.50, kicking off and not having my custom ever again. Abdul said fine and hung up. Very rude and clearly doesn't care about his customers!

So, we had a booking of 5 people and the people were friendly, although service skills weren't really there. The question we all had was, why is our food so sweet? Everything had a sweet, sugary taste, from the naans to the curry. Just a real strange experience because it makes no sense! Felt like a family restaurant with the lady struggling to deliver your food to each person, almost shoving you out of the way so she can place the food down. Unfortunately we won't be returning which is a shame.

We made the mistake of ordering from this restaurant through Just Eat, and it was a huge error. When we arrived to pick up our food at the designated time, it hadn't even been started, so we had to wait an additional 15 minutes. When the food was finally ready, we were asked for payment, but I explained that we had already paid online through Just Eat. The staff member seemed confused, but we left without thinking much of it. However, as we were walking down the street, the Manager/Owner came running after us, claiming that we hadn't paid.
