Solas - Speisekarte

We are addressed in this place being the only open Sunday evening in February. On board of the owner of the Boatshed (fabulous place).

My wife and I had lunch here today and the service provided by Naomi was superb. The food we had was fantastic and we had a good chat with the outstanding Chef. Would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

We went to the restaurant before Christmas for a works night out. It was a buffet and we went up table by table, the food was lovely and hot. The turkey and black pudding bahjis were amazing. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We stayed in the hotel. The food hear was excellent (so much so on our second bite despite eating elsewhere we returned here for dessert!! the hotel itself is dated, the restaurant is not. I may not stay in the hotel again but I’d definitely take a trip to the restaurant. My husband said it was the best lamb he ever ate.

Have been dine in the restaurant couple time in the past, last Saturday after 7pm they had bit busy night so we returned again for 8.15pm booked, young waiter who’s still in school was looking after us were friendly and polite with very good manner I’m surprise he’s did well as professional at his ages, credit to his close family trained him well.

We recently stayed in the Hotel and had breakfast every morning in the Solas and ate 2 nights in the restaurant. The food was amazing so hats off to the chef !!!!!. Great choice and high standard of cuisine every single time. We also attended a wedding in the hotel and food was outstanding. Staff cannot do enough for you and so friendly and informative. Well done all round.

Loved this restaurant! The staff was so eager to care for our group of 13 and did it with grace and skill. The food was excellent. There's a small but complete bar for tasting Scotch whisky or whatever suits your taste. One server even took extra time to offer some Scotch tasting education. Loved the lobby fire and abundant cozy chairs for after dinner sipping. The breakfast that comes with your lodging includes a buffet of cold fruits, yogurt and cereals plus a menu of several warm items that are cooked to order and served to your table.

We arrived in Stornoway on a wet Sunday evening with no dinner reservation. On the recommendation of our hosts we tried the Royal Hotel but they were fully booked however the friendly staff there called Solas to see if they could accommodate us and they could. We only had a main course a roast beef dinner and a vegetarian curry both were fresh, plentiful, and very tasty. Harris gin and tonic to begin with, a nice bottle of wine, and excellent service from Aaron (who was too young to drink himself but was an excellent waiter! and all in all it was a great way to start our holiday!

We visited this restuarant twice,once for lunch and again days later for afternoon tea.Soup was wonderful and sandwiches well presented put off by empty dining area but it was the middle of the week,they were very accommodating when we asked to sit near reception and excellent with one of our guests who has mild dementia.Afternoon tea was sublime,the young gentleman serving us ladies could not have done more,kind,courteous,caring and the cakes,oh dear not irresitable,wonderful service.We had two disabled guests and the care shown was wonderful,this is the place to go and price for afternoon tea was very,very reasonable.
