We had fish and chips very nice as usual,had no problems with it,but as usual TripAdvisor lives up to the normal, where people go when they can't find anything good to say .

Popped in for lunch for a change from the other chip shop in town. Great decision, service was very friendly and efficient. Fish and chip great ,light batter and crispy. Tea in a proper pot and strong. We shall return when in town again.

Absolutely fantastic fish and chips. Plus a battered beef burger, with curry sauce. No matter what you order it's delivered. Great stuff, very friendly and willing to help, no matter what. Please give this chip shop time before any other chip shop in Braunton. Very very good. Speisekarte ansehen

We placed a large order online for a football club social event. South 16 rang us a couple of times with queries, were happy for us to add to the order and update the order. They were super flexible and accommodating. The food was all ready to go when we went to collect and it was delicious. You couldn't have done more! Thank you so much.

We purchased two orders of fish and chips, but despite them claiming to offer small fish, what we received was small and the chips were terrible - multicolored and unpleasant tasting. The previous night, we had bought a large cod and chips from a nearby restaurant, which was delicious and cost £1.50 less. The fish was actually large in size.

The fish batter was thick and undercooked, resembling a sloppy goo. The chips were made from very small potatoes, resulting in a disappointing eating experience. I have had chips at other restaurants and chip shops that use larger potatoes, so there is no need for the small variety used here. Was on the look out for a fish and chip shop and came past this one, which turned out to be the best place in Braunton. We went in (3 kids and 2 adults) for dinner and was immediately seated. We were told that if we wanted savaloy, it would take about 20 minutes to cook and of cause that's what 2 of the children wanted, so the lovely lady went ahead and sorted them out straight away while we had a look at the menu. Our food came quickly and we really enjoyed it! It was definitely one of the best fish and chips we have had. Would 100% recommend this place for either taking away or dinning in.

Unfortunately South16 has taken a real slide in quality and quantity. I decided to give them a go again after being a Squires customer for a long time. Just so happened that I was tempted by an American Express offer, but it royally backfired. Payed 1/3 more for half the qty. that I would normally get round the corner, so won’t be back. Both me and my wife were left pretty embarrassed after treating the in laws and there not being enough for 2 let alone 4 after spending nearly £30, the only saving grace was the taste of the curry sauce, just a shame that you only get a spoonful. I like to shop local, but when you feel like it’s one sided it’s a really disheartening experience. Hopefully this...

I have refrained from writing a review until now in hopes that there would be improvement, but it seems unlikely. My family and friends have been regular patrons at South 16, and we all share the same sentiment - the owners seem to have given up. The food is subpar and poorly prepared in comparison to their competitors, and the inexperienced young girls working at the front of the shop often make mistakes. The prices on the website do not match those in the shop, and after speaking to others who have dined here, the feedback is not positive. Unfortunately, I will also be taking my business elsewhere.
