"We went for a meal in the restaurant area at 6pm last night to check out this pub which is under new ownership. We ordered our food and drinks and waited. After 5 minutes the waitress returned to say that neither of our choices were available so could we choose again. We asked if everything else was available and were told yes apart from one pie flavour. We quickly reordered different meals and thought that was done. Over the next 45 minutes we saw other tables order and wait for their meals and watch one diner return his whole meal calling it ‘inedible’. After 45 minutes the manageress arrived at our table to inform us that they didn’t have any chicken wings after all…..so could I choose again. We strongly suspect the last portion of chicken wings were given to a diner in the bar area when they should have been on our order. Whatever the case, we walked out and told the manageress it was totally unacceptable….to which she seemed indifferent, no apologies at all for the awful service just a shrug of her shoulders. If the new owners are trying to impress they are making one almighty mess of it. Avoid this place……you have been warned!! 1 star is purely for the free parking!!!"

Our band played there. Midlife Crisis,great crowd and atmosphere, the food looked excellent, and people were commenting how good it was,well worth a visit.

Family of 6 called in and we had a lovely meal at good value and surprisingly large portions. Will be happy to return during our stay in the area. Thank you to all the staff both out front and in the kitchen.

*sigh* and so yet again this 'establishment ' has been hosting the notorious Four Burrow Hunt, who hunt foxes illegally and enjoy the brutality of watch a pack of dogs rip apart wildlife. Definitely one to avoid if you have morals and prefer your local pub to not host known animal abusers.

Four of us attended for an evening meal on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday last week.The food was individually prepared and excellent value for money each day. The young lady who attende for our requirements was very friendly and a credit to herself and the establishment. Well recommended Vivien, Christine, Michael, Colin

We have visited here several times now on our visits to Cornwall every year or so, and we have never been disappointed. We had quite a long wait for our food but the waitress did come and apologise and explain that they had a large table order before us. The food was delicious, portion sizes were generous and everything tasted and looked fresh and the whole family loved their meals. The desserts were also great. No complaints here, we will happily return again.

The staff were friendly and our waitress was excellent. In hindsight, it was telling that the staff we saw eating on their break was having a bowl of chips. The fries we had were excellent, crispy, soft and salty. Unfortunately, the rest of our food was wholly disappointing. The pasta was dry and had clumped together in the pan. The pizzas had soft bases and too much tomato and cheese they certainly didn 't live up to their 'stonebaked ' label, or the price tag.
