"We stopped by after a family stroll and were greeted with a warm welcome. It's a dog-friendly pub, accommodating even our large dog. The service was excellent, and our food arrived promptly. I really enjoyed my experience here. The food was excellent, and the views are fantastic. The price per person is around £20–30. I would rate the food a 5, the service a 4, and the atmosphere a 5.

The coffee is exquisite, and there's an impressive selection of cakes, pastries, and savory pastries. The lemon drizzle cake is truly exceptional, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive.

I stopped by while Sid was getting his haircut and I can highly recommend the bacon and egg sandwiches – they were delicious! I also picked up a granary loaf, which I can confidently say is excellent.

When I called during the afternoon lull, the Christmas decorations were being put up, and although the Gold Bitter was unavailable, the Thwaites Original Bitter was possibly the best I've ever had. Price per person: £1–10.

"Fantastic little restaurant and take away! If you want to dine in better book before as they have very few tables and can get quite busy during prime time. We were lucky and got a table for 2 pax. Best papadums with the most delicious condiments Onion Baji fantastic and recommend with the red sauce that comes with the papadums Lamb Byriani probably the best price value we ever had and absolutely delicious Lamb Rogan Josh could have had more kick to it but super fresh and delicious Good to know that the chilies in the menu are actually English rating and not Indian. So next time I will definitely go for the 3 chilies. Portions are huge so recommendable to come in a small group and share. Will definitely want to go again during our stay as we agree with other reviewers that this probably was the best Indian in a long time!! Well done! Also service super friendly!"

"My husband and I visited the Royal Oak during our honeymoon in the area. The pub had a cozy atmosphere and the staff were friendly. We were excited to try the pie of the day and spoke with the owner/landlord about ordering the last 2 pies. Our drinks, including a Big Sur IPA that my husband enjoyed, were served promptly. Despite the pub not being very busy, we waited over an hour for our food with no updates from the staff. When we inquired about our order, we were told that it had not been sent to the kitchen. We decided to leave, feeling disappointed, and ended up back at our hotel eating chips at 10pm. It was not the romantic evening we had hoped for. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2"

"Due to bad weather found this little surprise in Grange over Sands. We decided to have lunch in Grange found Thyme out on Main Street. What a find the welcome was warm and helpful the menu large enough for anyone. We had the hot Mexer feta in honey omg has to be tried to be believed no words can do this dish justice we also had the calamari beautifully cooked crisp outside but sooo tender inside the Greek salad was also delicious. Service was ok, but not the chirpy talk you would expect to find in a pub. Kids had a nice play area outside which give the adults a bit of free time to chat. Plenty of poarking and a good over-flow parking for larger vehicles. Service: 4"

"Good view and staff were friendly. Unfortunately the food was not good. The duck starter was tough and chewy, and the chicken supreme was also very tough seemed like it had been sitting under a heat lamp or something so it dried out). Peppercorn sauce wasn't peppery. Fish was ok, but prawns were tasteless.The best parts of the meal were the crispy hen's egg and the new potatoes, while the carrots appeared to have been bought pre-cut which meant they were dry.Just pretty disappointing, to be honest : The rest of the customers were retirees, so it may appeal to different tastes, as shown by many good reviews."
