"We visited the area for an overdue catch up with a long standing friend of my wife. We had a booking probably a good idea I would think. We were blessed with a beautiful summer evening so we’re seated outside it’s open but shaded. The greeting from the young staff was spot on, the attention from the servers was first class all evening. Absolutely no rushing which I like. I had lamb perfectly cooked as my main. It came with polenta and asparagus. Superb. My companions both had cod which they rated the same. We had starters and pudding and enjoyed everything. Everything well worth my five star rating."

"We (4 chaps) had booked for a gentleman 's evening out to enjoy a nice steak dinner. Pub was very quiet and all night it remained largely empty with 1 other visible dinner plus a shooting party of around 12 in one of the other rooms. Atmosphere suffered and whilst its not in the team 's control it was very surprising on a Thursday night in the lead up to Christmas. Main two issues were the very limited steak options which given its one of their 'big ' selling points was very disappointing. Just 6-7 sirloin steaks left, everything else not available! Either they had a significant run on steaks or are not managing the rotation in the air dryer for the meat to ensure good supply. Once ordered we waited on the food and when it arrived it was luke warm to the point it could not melt the accompanying Confit Butter, needed the sauce to add some warmth and basically required you to inhale your steak just to have a warm meal. Server noted this but offered no apology just asked if we wanted them reheated...turning medium rare to medium or well done! Would have understood if the kitchen was very busy but at this point could not see any other occupied tables, even the shooting party were still just drinking. At £38 a steak it would have been a better experience and perceived value to have a hot meal that you could saviour. We have all eaten here before and had lovely roast dinners so very disappointed. The value versus price did not match and for a destination for steak, will think again before going back for a nice steak dinner with friends."

"Located in the picturesque village of Hindon in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside, we stumbled upon this charming pub while out for a leisurely drive in the sun. Initially, we had planned on just stopping for a quick drink at one of the outdoor tables. However, after perusing the menu, we couldn't resist indulging in a delicious lunch. Kathy opted for the megrim sole, while I enjoyed the calves liver. Both dishes were of exceptional quality and cooked to perfection. We were thoroughly impressed and will definitely be returning for another meal in the future."

"Great pub, great atmosphere, great beer, great food My better half and I called in this evening (a bank holiday Saturday evening) for an “quick evening meal”; everything about our visit excelled! The staff are warm and friendly – not just the staff, but all who seem to visit here too. To drink, I had one of the best pints of beer I’ve had in years – I believe there is an art in keeping good beer, and if there is, then there is a craftsman at work here! We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal, good food served with heart – don’t underestimate that last ingredient, imho it’s what can make a good meal great. I’d unreservedly recommend the Boot when you’re Tisbury, all ingredients needed are here for a good night – hope you enjoy as we did just for fun you can tell them Simon said to call in Vegetarian options: As a vegetarian what a pleasent change it is feel catered for and valued as a customer! Lots of vegie options including on the specails board, which was a very welcome surprise. The food taste's fresh, is prepaired and served with care."
