"why I am not surprised that the bedford arms do not even have the courtesy to answer! I had the unfortunate opportunity to eat with my father (on birthday) and my brother in her facility. we were sitting behind him. very loud coffee machine (crash, bang, wallop was the sound) during our meal. No one came to ask us for our drink order, not even water until my brother got up and went into the bar. No one came and my brother got up again and asked a service. we ordered it. the waitress didn't really come back thunfisch! her menu is barely extensive and I only eat fish so that the choice was difficult. I asked the waitress if there were other fish dishes, she was very uncertain, so I had to decide for the fish cake. our food arrived, bang bang prawns for my dad and brother went well, my suppe an oily thin water fair that tasted absolutely nothing. I started to eat it, but after the touch I tried to lose the layer of fat on the found top, to my frighten, there was a dead carnival in it swimming. my brother went into the bar and complained. No one came to the table to apologise, I didn't want anything else, but some attention would have been nice. the main course came, I think I was unhappy yesterday, but my fish cakes were really just kartoffel with 3 tiny salmon cums. pretty bad for close to £16. I left most of it. after a very long waiting period our table was cleaned. creme bruleesarrived, no crispy lace and disappointing taste. No one came, so I went to the bar to get the bill. it finally arrived, but after another 10 minutes I had to ask for the card machine again. so, bitterly disappointed as I said. I chose the bedford arms as my father in the 70s and 80s like to remember going here. we are not now local and chose the pub for a nice day and a tasty bite for the 89th birthday of my dad. we don't come back, but I thought I'd write to tell them our experience. our waitress was nice, but I just couldn't make myself leave a tip. I hope they can improve the things at the end. the pub has everything in relation to the location and such a pretty building, etc."

Having stayed at The Bedford Arms, I had bookings for both Saturday evening and Sunday lunch. Both menus were excellent, and the food delicious. Service perfect i.e. friendly and professional.

This was a recommended hotel for a local wedding and it was perfect. Great location and the rooms were very comfortable and had air conditioning which was such a blessing in the recent heat. The staff were fantastic for arrival to departure. I highly recommend...this hotel and judging by the fact that it was full of diners when I arrived I look forward to staying again and sampling the food

my man and our niece (and her welpe) booked yesterday for lunch. we were advised that there were outside protected pavillons with tables that would allow the puppy to come along. our food was very good. one of us had the roast lamb. it was. expensive (in my opinion,) but good. I had fishcakes that were very nice. the lady who took care of our table came back to ask if everything was in order and later came back to see if we wanted more drinks, etc. very friendly and efficient. they (jane) and amy are a good one for the hotel. we're coming back.

When looking for somewhere to enjoy lunch before our Harry Potter Studio Tour visit the Bedford Arms Hotel rated highly and was within a ten minute drive of the studios. Booking online was easy and we managed to reserve a table in the front garden....Glad we booked as the hotel was rather busy and there were certainly a lot of reservation tickets on tables. The lunch menu was full of tasty homemade pub classics, I opted for the homemade burger and fries. A generous beef patty, soft brioche bun and a rather large portion of fries. Would definitely recommend.

On Sunday we attended the Bedford Arms for lunch with friends the place was well attended but seemed to have less staff than required as we waited a while to order drinks. Three of us had the beef and 1 the pork sadly the quality...of the dishes were not what you would expect for a hearty Sunday lunch, tepid spuds and all covered in gravy, I like to pour my own. Found all of the staff to be quite pleasant apart from one I never got her name but it would be fair to say she stands out from the rest of the staff. She made us feel awkward and if I’m honest I found her to be rude too. I was far from impressed with what I experienced and will not be going back to this establishment anytime soon

Check in wasn’t that welcoming. We had to ask a lot of questions instead of being offered information. We were early so decided to have a drink in the bar. We were told all the tables inside had been reserved. Decided to drink outside but...then were told to move as the outside tables (covered huts) we also all reserved. So we moved for a third time. No one came to tell us our rooms were ready. That would’ve been an added touch. We had prebooked a roast for 3pm. Bit disappointing that the horseradish sauce came in sachets, along with the salt and pepper. The bar closed at 6pm on Sunday so we couldn’t order anymore drinks at all after this time. We got told they were closing. So we had to fin...

"December 2021: Glad to be able to visit The Old Orchard at Christmas. They always have a real fire going and mulled wine. Unfortunately, they hadn't started the mulled cider yet but, had a hot toddy; both were wonderful. Well done guy's for offering these. The food , for starters we shared prawn salad, very refreshing. My partner had the chicken and leek pie which was yummy. I had the salmon, which was disappointing, dry and bland, the veggie accomplishment were tasty. January 2020: I really like this place and come here regularly. Looking forward to coming in summer. Having been here many times over the last 4 months, I have to say the menu is limited and boring. Very surprised they haven't thought of changing it or varying it a bit. Also wish they had a few more cosy tables and chairs. Apart from the 1st time we came always get put on a small table for 2 despite asking for a square 4 table and plenty being available. The service could be better, waiters don't write the order down and then forget to bring you drinks. Despite the above I still like this place but, it's these things that is the difference between nice and amazing. December 2019: Came here on Christmas Eve and had a lovely evening. September 2019:Went to The Old Orchard for drinks and dinner on a Friday night. I hadn't booked a table so we had to wait an hour and a half. Which was fine as it was a nice evening we sat outside then had to move in due to it getting a bit chilly. Would have been nice if they had patio heaters, I would have liked to sit outside. Blankets would also be a nice touch. The views are amazing. Food was very good, facilities were clean and the staff were friendly and provided a great service. I will definitely be coming back."
