The Canton Arms - Speisekarte

This is a traditional London pub, and it's one of my top five favorites in the city.

Great atmosphere. Great selection of beers. Staff friendly. Didn't eat but food looked good.

I've been coming here for 7 years and it never dips in quality. Excellent food menu too. Only issue is it can get obscenely busy but that's the same everywhere in a city as overpopulated as London.

had the pleasure of staying on the street during a recent visit, and the canton arms was our gas house. the food was delicious and plentiful, and the service excellent. some of the best meals we had during our stay in Great Britain were with the canton-poor. highly recommended! Speisekarte ansehen

We booked 2 weeks in advance to get a table for Sunday roast. It was nice, the beef was correctly cooked and the portion was generous. However, it was really missing the Yorkshire pudding and the roasted carrots. It could also use a thicker gravy. We did appreciate though that when we asked for more gravy they did not charge us. They will be adding service charge to your bill. Expect to pay more than £30 for a main and a beer.

We have been loyal patrons of the Canton for a long time and always rave about it being the top pub in London. However, we were disappointed with our recent dining experience. The staff, drinks, and wine were all excellent, but the food fell short. The skate was bland and overseasoned, the chips seemed to be frozen and reheated, and there were no usual condiments like salt or tartar sauce provided. When we inquired if there was a new chef, we were informed that there was. Hopefully, this is just a temporary issue as chefs come and go, but at a pricey £25 per meal, it was not good value for what we received.

We arrived on time for a Sunday roast only to discover that they'd made our booking two weeks later than agreed on the phone, however, the manager was wholly unapologetic and seated us at a non-dining table for the best part of an hour while they waited for a table to come free. Eventually we were seated at the bar and immediately informed of when we had to leave, again with no acknowledgement of the error on their part. When a table was eventually vacated I asked the manager if we could be reseated, but again she was disappointingly unaccomodating, informing us that the table was reserved 45 minutes from now.
