"I found this place by accident one day and I'm so glad I did, my Husband and I love this place and when we take our Daughter (age she loves it too. Hubby usually gets Mussels in a tomato sauce iv tried them...fabulous) The Fillet steaks are always cooked exactly the way we want (Med to rare). Can I say Iv tried Diane sauce many many times and their Diane sauce is absolutely superb (different BUT BETTER) than anywhere. Casa Mia pasta is lovely and creamy, fresh and very filling. My Daughters favourite is macaroni cheese and she absolutely loves the garlic bread with cheese. There are so many lovely dishes on their menu Iv tried most of them) and I can honestly say I have never left disappointed or hungry, I'm very surprised by previous review about portion sizes I NEVER finish my meal as I'm so full with the courses couldn't contemplate a dessert my Daughter assures me they are the best). The staff are really good at what they do even if they are mega busy they still stop to chat and always ask if we enjoyed our meal. I had been unwell with Covid and my appetite wasn't quite back so left quite a bit of my meal the last time we visited, the Manager came to ask if I hadn't enjoyed my meal as I'd left so much. I have ONE wee thing, I love Pate but don't like terrine, so Chef La Belle can I have Pate that isn't terrine, PLEASE Really fab little place please try it for yourself, I'm so glad we did. This is our go to times a month. PS, Chi Chi cocktail is devine"

"Dalshanan Farm was the next on the list of “Scottish Curry Award winners”. I’ve been looking forward to this for a few weeks since visiting two other winners (Edinburgh). We drove 80 miles each way for what we expected to be a great curry. Unfortunately the experience didn’t live up to the expectation. We ordered a mixed platter to start which was just a plate of deep fried things! Over cooked (especially the samosa) , dry and pretty bad. A shame considering the reputation. My curry was bland, under seasoned and zero spice. I did raise this and the fantastic waiter (I suspect owner) changed it for another dish that apparently had more flavour. It did come out quickly but unfortunately had marginally more flavour and was spicier but absolutely doesn’t warrant the “HOT” warning. Looking at some reviews on here it seems like things have changed since they won the award. It was a long way to go for a meal that wasn’t memorable at all. Such a shame."

"This was my first visit to the Smiddy Inn and it certainly won't be my last. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food and service were excellent. Despite it being my first time there, I was impressed and will definitely be returning. I came back again tonight and even though the staff may have been different, the warm welcome and delicious food remained consistent. Keep up the great work!"

"1/4/24 i read a review that they have scones as most cafés do I think they're HOMEMADE, but I will find out the next time i'm in Cumernod. Most scones r varied like plain, fruit, treacle, cheese cherry BUT in this café there r a few more that i've never heard of b4. So over you go check them all out. The person in the review had a lemon white chocolate one sang the praises of it that's ONE of the main reason i ventured over also to check out the many reviews. Well the lemon chocolate scones gets a 10/10 the only thing about it was a bit crumbly when I tried to cut it in halve as u can see, I forgot to ask if it could be heated up a wee bit, a few folks like them het up. At least my broccoli "

"My family and I went to this restaurant on Christmas Day for dinner, paying £50 per person. The roast turkey was overcooked, the vegetables were undercooked, and the portion sizes were disappointing. The pigs in blankets were too salty and there was not enough gravy to go around. The desserts were also disappointing, except for the vanilla ice cream sundae. We left the restaurant feeling hungry and dissatisfied after only 1 hour and 20 minutes. However, the staff were friendly and resolved a mix-up with our orders quickly. Overall, I would not recommend having Christmas dinner here, but I might consider returning for cheap cocktails in the future."
