"Visited today with my wife and month old daughter whilst we are on holiday in the area. We didn’t have a booking but this wasn’t a problem, the staff were friendly throughout and accommodating about lack of booking. We asked for a children’s menu...(website says they have one) but we were advised it’s was the basket meals menu which they advertise as selling to guests sat outside, they did also mention they could make a smaller portion of something from the adult menu. The basket meals menu is mainly fried food and chips, the kind you might share with friends over drinks, I wouldn’t call it a children’s menu. To me a children’s meal should at least come with some option of veg/salad/beans and ideally not be fried, plus the chips that arrived with her chicken bites were salted, not great for little ones. We didn’t make a fuss as for one meal as a treat we weren’t unduly worried but it would put me off going back with children. They also charged the full basket meal price so no reduction for children. Our meals, fried garlic mushrooms, salt and pepper chicken goujons to start then a beef burger and chicken burger as mains, arrived promptly and were generous portions. The food was fine, nothing spectacular just average pub food. The main issue on our visit and the thing that made the whole meal much more stressful and unenjoyable was the flies, we were sat in what they called the restaurant area and our whole meal start to finish was disrupted by or flies continuously buzzing round us, trying to land on our food and land on us, not fun. I accept that or flies can be around when doors or windows are open and it’s hard to stop them coming when food is around but or round us and more to be seen in the room seems too many to me, it really put us off especially when they were landing on our daughter. At the point of eating the meal we didn’t raise the issue as we couldn’t see that anything could be done about it and I’m sure the staff are not a fan of the flies either. I did raise the issue whilst paying and was told they knew about the problem and were doing their best to solve it, sadly for us it would stop me wanting to go again. All in all not a great experience and the food whilst nice enough wasn’t good enough to overcome the issue of the flies and the lack of a proper children’s menu."

Beautiful tasty roast pork dinner. Roast pork was moist and the flavour was superb. No faults with meal at all. Staff was brilliant.x

We found this gem of a place as somewhere to call on our way home from a weekend away. Friendly and thoughtful servers, excellent food and really decent portion sizes. We enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch and would definitely recommend.

Went for a lovely meal for my mums birthday! The food was out of this world definitely worth the visit. I ordered the lasagne and my mum had fillet steak, which both were amazing.Staff were brilliant, helpful and polite. Definitely will be heading back!

An excellent pub, with great food. We were holidaying in the area decided to pay the Falcon a visit . Lovely food, the gammon and the chicken pie were both delicious as were the scampi and chicken curry. Dead friendly staff and a nice pint...of Timmy Taylor’s.

Visited for Sunday lunch for my birthday. Service was class and very attentive. Lyndsay has got a great manner about her and was fantastic; really attentive whilst constantly watching out for other diners. The food was truly superb ; great portion sizes and really...tasty. This is a great pub with great food and well worth a visit.

my wife and I went to Sunday dinner yesterday. I chose the bark and my wife had that huh, there were also pork and a lamb special. or you'd have mixed meat. both meats were very well cooked with large portion sizes. The...main courses came with a nice and extra crimson. really nice home made yorkshire pudding. we shared a Bakewell tar for the desert. all the food was fresh and we were very satisfied with our decisions. beautiful staff. really friendly. beautifully kept village pub. very clean and well furnished. we plan to return to the near future for an evening meal.

we were impressed here once before, as they had a good choice of vegetarian options. I had searched online it showed that they had a feta tea with salat new kartoffeln. when we arrived, we got another page...Menu that had only one choice for vegetarian veg burger, chips, wobbles a very unhealthy option, not something I would normally choose. I asked the waitress about the feta tart she said the owners had changed the menu but did not change it online. they would not have a meat option on a menu, so I am not sure why it is acceptable that as vegetarian my meal choice already made very disappointing. the waitress was brilliant, was very friendly efficient. my meal was served on a wood chipper...
