"Very good. this renovated and updated gastro pub has a beautiful, high-end feeling, without too posh. the personal is pleasant, real and well maintained. good drink selection! music selection didn't seem fit, but not extraordinarily. eating is exceptional, but, based on some personal preferences, there were slightly smaller disappointments with each dish. all were presented beautifully! the scallop starter was perfectly cooked, but there was an unexpected sticky texture on the sea red side. the chilis needed something sweet to balance them, but it was a nice warm pop. the acid from the grapefruit mixed with the petersilie mayonnaise drizzle, but both were delicious. some either flash-frozen or dry germinated greens gave beautiful texture, and the dish as a whole was beautiful. the duck ice starter was rich without being hard. slowly boiled (inspiring sous vide,) the egg was perfect. it was on a bed of slowly baked cheekwange, which is longing! some picking mushrooms have also added beautiful acid contrast. the brioche disc on which everything sat was not my favorite, but again can be personal preference. it seemed too thick, dense and sweet for the court. either would have been a nice sourded or an airy crawling cut my choice. again a very tasty dish. the healbutt main was absolutely wonderful! in butter lubricated, with fennel, white asparagus, a butter sauce with raw and squid-ink pasta. all with dill fronds. only small critique was the toughness of the tips of the braided fennel without knife, which is suitable for cutting through. a unique and very pleasant experience! it was great."

"Full Vegan Menu! We always pick The Barge and Bottle to celebrate family birthdays because there is something for everyone, burgers, steaks, pub classics and now an additional full Vegan menu with 15 dishes over three courses to choose from! I had the starter Vegan soup of the day which was homemade rustic tomato and basil with a Bretzil bread roll, soup was full of flavour and texture with a punchy kick to it, delicious. Next up was the Vegan lasagne served with Bretzil garlic bread with mixed salad and chips. The Vegan lasagna had pasta layers and topped with melted Vegan cheese that actually tasted of cheese! Tasty and filling main course. To finish I went with the Vegan rice pudding with fruit coulis, very nice. The restaurant is a warm and welcoming environment with staff that are always friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I would thoroughly recommend The Barge and Bottle, a great meal out with plenty of choices for any age and any dietary requirement. I shall be returning soon to work my way through the rest of the Full Vegan Menu!   "

"Under new management. Totally refurbished and with a new chef we ate here off the Bistro menu. The staff were keen to please and very efficient. The food was of an incredibly high quality. The small plate starters were a fantastic opening followed by the gin cured salmon. The beef pave was cooked perfectly and served with real thought. Having eaten at the old Solo this was definitely a step up. Real Bistro dining in the heart of Sleaford. The web site on Trip Advisor is now incorrect. Try thesolo.bar/ ."

"There was a mix-up with our take-away; they forgot to include one item and I did not check the contents of the bag before arriving home mins drive away). The response to my subsequent phone call was nothing less than outstanding. Envelope with cash to the value of the missing item through the letter box within a couple of hours of the call. Really was above and beyond etc...top marks."
