"We Parked up at Island Harbour and walked our dog along the river to the Folly. It's an easy walk and just long enough for Shelby our Labrador to burn off some energy so that we can sit and enjoy a coffee or as on this occasion a meal on the terrace. The meals are good and Shelby had a sausage and a few chips. I had a burger and Lee had the salmon fish cakes both excellent, served by attentive staff Food: 5"

"First time going and would love to go again and again and,........ well you get the idea. Service was excellent, having chosen the seafood combo it came well presented, with guidance on how to make sure it was cooked through. The accompanying salad was fresh and tasty. "What can I say I have known chef Sean Jeffers since he was 16 washing up in our yacht club kitchen, he has gone leaps and ,bounds and beyond ,he and his team smashed it out the park tonight absolutely delicious food and great service .started with some snacks some beautiful parmesan, truffle ,onion jam doughnuts WOW,fresh crisp ,soft focaccia. Then came the starter slow cooked IOW beef crumpet ,onion jam horseradish parsley emulsion, stunning, for main I had the baked cod ,fish mouse tortellini, keta, leek jus , smoked bacon and for me the showstopper pickled mussels BEAUTIFUL...... The place to be ,the place to go the unforgettable Red lion of Freshwater 5 stars"

"I had a delightful lunch at The Horse and Groom today. This spacious pub offers plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, with excellent access throughout. The facilities for children are fantastic, including a large outdoor playground with a climbing frame and crazy golf. There’s a good variety of meals to choose from, but do keep in mind that the outdoor menu is limited and some COVID restrictions are still in effect. Overall, the food is well presented, and both the children's area and the leisure spaces are well maintained."

"If someone in your party is disabled, it can be difficult to find specific information. Before you visit, book a table on the ground floor. When you arrive, look for the sign for disabled parking, where there are six spaces right outside the ground floor entrance. You will have to navigate about 5-10 meters of gravel in the car park, but then everything is level access with no curbs or steps. There is also a disabled toilet. Enjoy your meal – we certainly did."

"Just had lunch at the Terrace today with some good friends. We were booked on a table outside on the terrace as we have a dog. I, was phoned by the restaurant yesterday and asked if we would be happy to move to a table indoors as the weather was looking as though it might be raining. I reminded them that we would have our dog with us, but they said, if the dog was well behaved we could bring him indoors too. So we had a table in the restaurant, the weather today did turn out to be rather thundery, and wet. We arrived and were shown to the table and were offered water for our dog. The menu was really good with a great selection of seafood, meat and vegetarian and vegan options. My wife and I chose scallops for a starter, which were delicious, our friends had pâté and crispy Cauliflower fritters. We all also chose different main courses, Pork steak with black pudding on a bed of parsley mash for me, sea bass with smashed new potatoes with crab meat for my wife, baked cod and a mushroom and truffle risotto for our friends. We all enjoyed our food, which was beautifully presented. The waiting staff were very friendly and helpful. Too full for a desert we all had coffee to finish. The bill when it came was very reasonable. We will definitely go back again."
