"We had a holiday in Dorset and after checking local restaurants reviews online, telephoned the Crown Inn in Uploders to book a table. I spoke to Karin the chef and after explaining my husband’s dietary needs, she said that her menu could be adjusted to suit him. When we arrived, Karin sat at our table and went through the menu advising which dishes could be tweaked for my husband. The food was delicious. I have never known such a high level of customer service and a willingness of all the staff to ensure we had a good experience. It was also our 50th Wedding Anniversary and David played Happy Anniversary by Slim Whitman which was a lovely touch. Once again, a big thank you to Karin, David and Debbie for all their kindness on our special day. We will certainly visit again if we are in the area."

"For Father's Day dinner, the staff at the restaurant was extremely friendly. The establishment was clean and had a welcoming atmosphere, with a delightful scent of food in the air. I ordered the roasted beef, which was incredibly tender and tasted like a home-cooked meal. My partner and our young child had the pork, which was also delicate and flavorful. The portions were generous, with a side of hot, steaming vegetables that our child happily devoured. We also indulged in some delicious desserts. We will definitely be returning, thanks to the excellent service provided by the staff."

"This is a café and restaurant with a very nice charming atmosphere. The food is tasty and the price is good. The best is the decoration. It is diverse and you might think it does not fit but this is the special thing in here. If you don't like it when you enter, stay away. All others will love it and will always come back. Then, if you sit there and watch the time go by, drink your coffee and just enjoy life, you will leave full of energy."

"So pleased we found this pub! The service was friendly and welcoming, the garden is well kept and shady in places BUT the food was absolutely delicious!! I really wanted to have a salad but didn't fancy the 2 on the menu as don't eat meat, on request I had a salad with falafel and it was to die for, that dressing of nettles, ginger and lime was so good. My plate was pilled high with a large selection of Very fresh veg and I enjoyed every bite. My husband had fish and he couldn't get it into his month fast enough, it was so good : We enjoyed it so much we went back 2 days later, I had the same salad (of course and my husband tried your sausages which he said were top quality, our Westie had a bit and he also agreed. Well done to you all for such great food, service and atmosphere. We will be back!"

"We've eaten here in the past when we go to visit an elderly relative in West Bay. On this occasion, we ate at 6.30 on a Tuesday evening. The pub was moderately busy, but it was a wet and windy night! We both had fish and chips which was okay. Portion size was adequate, but if you're a big, hungry man, it wouldn't necessarily be enough. Fish was quite nice, but chips a little underwhelming in my opinion. What I found extremely annoying was the addition of a 10% service charge automatically applied to the bill. It wasn't even mentioned by the member of staff. I always get it removed. If I want to add a tip, I will decide how much, not the restaurant thank you very much!!! My husband was slightly surprised when I paid the bill as it was. He queried it when we were outside, and I said I had paid the service charge because they had missed of a pint of beer and a large glass of red, so it was reasonable value, and one up to me! We won't return in the future."
