The Griffin - Speisekarte

I went to try the steak meal deal at this restaurant and I was very impressed. The food and service were both excellent. The meal was served promptly and the portion size was generous.

We came here to watch one of the England Euros matches and decided to have some food here beforehand. Bangers Mash and one of the Burgers. Couldn't fault it. Humble, homemade pub grub but fantastic big portions.

Visited Market Weighton today to walk, decided to stop for lunch so went in the Griffin, lovely home cooked food and so reasonable, cant remember having home made chips in any pub so a pleasant surprise, home made lasagne was fab, just wished i lived closer, would def recomend

I came back to this restaurant for steak night for the second time. This time, I ordered the ribeye, and last time I had the sirloin. Both steaks were absolutely amazing - really juicy and some of the best I've ever had. The chips and salad were also delicious. The price of £40, which includes a bottle of red wine or 2 pints each, was a great deal. I will definitely be returning.

Wonderful atmosphere, everyone is friendly, the bar staff are ultra-friendly and welcoming, especially the American lady. The prices are cheap, there is outside seating, one only has to be there for five minutes and you'd be chatting to almost everyone and the food is EXCELLENT, probably some of the best food I've ever tasted and service is very quick. Also it is dog-friendly with a quiz night every Thursday! It is a home from home.

After not being into this pub for many years, I was pleasantly surprised by how smart it is now. Welcoming and homely atmosphere, with regulars sharing very positive thoughts on the place. Very attentive staff and a really positive feel. Definitely a good decision to have an impromptu meal out here. The food was lovely, and there were interesting choices on the menu. A bottle of wine was only £10.95, so we were glad we were walking home...

We didn't think we we're particularly hungry as we were passing through Market Wieghton on the way to visit some friends. Post Lockdown we chose the Griffin. A lovely friendly pub in Market Place with a pleasant beer garden. Small plates £6 we ordered Fish and Chips. They were absolutely gorgeous. Not too many chips. Home made! Lovely fresh fish with a very nice batter. I can't think I've had nicer fish and chips in a longtime. We'd certainly recommend.

We visited twice as part of our holiday visit. Firstly we attended Andrew's pub quiz, being pub quiz veterans. The quiz was brilliant. A wide variety of questions with such a lot of planning delivered by the fantastic Andrew. We also visited for what can only be described as the best Sunday Lunch out that I have ever had. The meat was delicious, veg cooked to perfection and the cauliflower cheese was outstanding. The atmosphere was lovely. If we ever visit the area again we will definitely pay another visit.

We went to The Griffin for lunch on Sunday afternoon. The restaurant is located in the town center and both the exterior and interior were clean and tidy. When we arrived, the pub was not busy and there was only one staff member who was managing the bar, taking orders, and delivering food from the kitchen. Since he was the only one working, we had to order at the bar and there was a delay in getting our food as he was busy serving and chatting with other customers. We had to wait a long time between our starters and main courses, and when the food finally arrived, it was lukewarm and just okay.
