We took a chance and made a reservation a week in advance since we were on holiday, and it certainly paid off. The pub is charming, the staff were welcoming, and the Sunday carvery was exquisite, offering a lovely selection of vegetables. I would highly recommend it! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The food was incredible; the portions were generous, and everything was fresh. The cuisine is truly outstanding. Our meal for four, including three desserts and drinks, cost about £70, which I believe is a great value given the quality of the service and the delicious food. Came here for a Sunday roast, food was ok but to me it was an average Sunday dinner that you would get at any chain pub. Unfortunately desert was worse.. I ordered a chocolate orange melt that they must have frozen as although it was warm on the outside of the cake it was still frozen in the centre. We called on short notice for a Sunday lunch after our plans at another place fell through. The woman who greeted us was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The ambiance was delightful, and the food exceeded my expectations. The cauliflower cheese was incredibly cheesy, and the gravy was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place. What a lovely quaint little pub. Had a lovely carvery extremely generous portions all fresh ingredients. Staff were very attentive and welcoming. If you would like a relaxed atmosphere and a roast , just like your grans then this is the place. Also dog friendly.
