I brought my wife here tonight for a meal. the staff could not take up the food was nice, the steaks were perfectly cooked. many thanks for a beautiful evening

what a nice, baby-friendly pub, after a terrible experience in a nearby caffe, the staff today made our lunch for us and our 7-month sohn very easy. we really enjoyed the food, flexibility, helpfulness and changes on the menu as well as our fabulous waitress. Thank you. Speisekarte ansehen

I'm confused by this place. The staff were awesome, the food was fine (nothing special) but the selection for vegans/veggies is good so that was a positive. Cockails were decent but we spent quite a lot on not very much. Nice decor inside, good car park and outdoor garden area.

Had a very enjoyable family meal at The Jovial Sailor this evening. We reserved one of the outdoor huts, which was perfect in the early evening sunshine. My ultimate burger was delicious and very filling (sorry, forgot to take a photo! , and my eton mess was great too. A couple of pints of Hogs Back Tea to go with it and I was very happy! Excellent value for money, friendly and efficient service. Recommended.

A really good vegan menu with choices such as Mushroom Wellington, enchiladas tofu Katsu curry As we visited on Sunday I had the Vegan Nut Roast carvery-the nut roast itself was delicious came with vegan gravy. I went up to the carvery to choose my veggies- today on offer was broccoli, swede mash,parsnips, cabbage,carrots roast potatoes. Very Busy Pub but this doesn’t affect the service you receive. Lots of staff on hand and all the staff we interacted with were very pleasant. Pub has a great garden with plenty of seating and the kids loved the park area. Food was good the kids meals were a great portion size. My son had the pizza and couldn’t manage it all so I ate the last slice and it was to die for! The ultimate burger was fully loaded and definitely worth every penny. We will definitely be coming back.

We love this place, lovely food and a good selection. Great outdoor area with lots of atmosphere, also with the added bonus of a play bit for kids. But the VERY best thing that sets the Jovial apart from other local pubs and keeps us coming back again and again is the absolutely awesome staff! Everyone is SO friendly and helpful, cheerful and attentive. A very special mention for two members of the team that always stand out for us and that’s Emily and Tilly, both always so energetic and welcoming!

I was disappointed with the vegan food at this restaurant. My mushroom Wellington was burnt, as were the potatoes, and the seasonal vegetables were overcooked. It was all inedible. My mother and husband tried the vegan katsu curry and found it to be just okay, not great. On the positive side, the vegan milkshake was good and the staff were friendly. They also discounted our bill for my meal. However, I don't plan on returning as I still feel that even with the reduced price, the meal was overpriced for the quality we received. Speisekarte ansehen
