"Beautiful ambience, the soft music and decor is cool. The waiters were polite. Naan bread was very nice, the mushroom rice can be better. Rogan Josh was really good. Prawn curry was just there, I wasn't impressed with it. Papadums were really nice, with the mint sauce mango chutney. The sparkling lemonade was really good too, would be better with a little vodka The wait time after ordering was about 30-40mins+ that's too long for me. Lovely place really, next time I'll just do takeout because the cost of eating in is like x2 of takeout. Went to the resteraunt on 18th September, I couldn't fault it. Great food and plenty of it with very good service. I would highly recommend this place. I regret to share that my recent dining experience at this restaurant was highly unsatisfactory. The quality of the food was abysmal, and to make matters worse, the staff exhibited a shocking level of rudeness by making light of serving raw dishes. The pricing was exorbitant, nearly double what one would expect for such subpar offerings. I strongly advise against dining here due to the combination of terrible food, unprofessional staff, and excessively high prices. Your dining expectations would be better met elsewhere. "I have been coming to this pub for many years as I used to be local however not since the big renovation. The update has been done respectfully to the area with keeping the cosy village pub we all love. With that said it still feels modern and chic thus pleasing all. We were served by the very polite and attentive Sarah. Lovely smile and gave great eye contact, fast serving and all round wonderful customer service. Definitely an asset to the business. The building is easily accessible with an electric wheelchair (apart from the original cobbled short path to the front door) and is dog friendly. I had hoisin belly pork with beansprout salad and my guest had the French onion soup. Both were outstanding. To drink we had pot of local tea and pint of Korev which is a Cornish lager and really smooth drink. We will definitely be returning! Well done team!"

"Food drinks: I took the wife for birthday lunch, the restaurant was not available (which I knew about beforehand) so we ate in their conservatory as it was raining outside. We ate of the lunch menu, the food was superb,throughout my cheese soufflé was fantastic, light,tasty and freshly baked(worth the 20 minutes wait we were advised of). We both had the steak, quite simply one of the beat steaks I have eaten, really melted in the mouth. The dessert was creme brulee, again superb taste and presentation. The service throughout was superb, Marek was attentive, polite and he never felt like anything was too much,when we needed something. For a special occasion I recommend a visit, it really will be worth it."

"The first thing you should know about the Ring of Bells (the Ringers as it is known locally) is that it has been under completely new management since mid 2023; old reviews are simply no longer relevant! There are four pubs in Chagford but the Ringers really is the social centre of the town with locals of all types enjoying the service, food and atmosphere of this brilliant Dartmoor pub. If you want a great meal, to meet local people, and to learn about real Dartmoor folk, I strongly recommend you pay the Ring of Bells a visit. If you're looking for a tasty takeaway they do that too!"

"The walk from the Mill End Hotel to Fingle along the river is really lovely. Most parts are easy to navigate, although there are a few steep sections that require careful footing. The views are stunning, and there are fantastic spots for wild swimming. We spent an hour at Fingle. There are parking options available when driving, as well as a large field on the opposite side of the bridge, which is perfect for a picnic."

"I have been before and it was good but this time it was a complete let down, I am vegan and they assured me they could cater for me but my sandwiches (which were part of my cream tea)were four tiny squares of bread containing a slice of cucumber in two of them, three slices of radish in one and a couple of sprigs of rocket in the other. I am sure they must have forgotten and quickly made these. In today’s world it is easy to get vegan cheeses etc so I am really disappointed and doubt I will bother going again which is a shame as it is a lovely place it’s just a shame the food doesn’t come up to the same standard."
