"First weekend looking after my 4 month old baby alone whilst his Mum was working, so the prospect of eating out was a bit daunting. The staff couldn't have been more helpful or understanding. The place was busy and yet a lady noticed I hadn't touched my main as I was feeding the baby, and kindly offered to heat my food up. Then, when it came to changing my baby, a previous customer had walked off with the only key to the toilet. Rather than say I would have to go elsewhere, a member of staff spent 5 minutes managing to open the door to the changing room. I think they really went above and beyond to create a welcoming atmosphere and help in any way they could. I will definitely be back!"

Nice place with very good food. My furry friend was so happy to be there. The staff is also amazing. It will be a usual place for us.

The burger was fantastic, but the burnt sweet potato was disappointing. However, I appreciated the fresh bowl of chips they provided, which was a nice touch. I will definitely return!

Had an impromptu lunch here yesterday. Lovely open fires with a nice atmosphere. Bar staff warm welcoming. Maple soup absolutely delicious. Table cleared promptly. Really good experience

First visit to this venue for a birthday meal. We were looked after by Mark and Sandra. They were very friendly and efficient. The food was excellently cooked by Aaron, very tasty. Would we return again? You bet will will.

I haven 't been to this pub in 8 years, but since returning, what a difference I have seen. A lot better with the atmosphere, service and the venue itself. No longer the 'chav ' crowd. It has certainly upgraded its standards. Very family orientated as well as dog friendly.

We visited the nut squirrel on 30/5 and Dan was our server. He was very friendly and patient with us when we were dealing with our children. Dan recommended us a few items on the menu and the food was served within good time and to great quality. We will definitely visit again. Thank you Dan for a great lunch service.

I stopped in for lunch with my wife. She ordered a dish that came with sweet potato chips, but unfortunately, the chips were overcooked. Fortunately, one of the staff members, who we think was named Mari, promptly noticed this and offered to replace them with a fresh bowl. We were really impressed with the great service!

I was pleasantly surprised by our unexpected visit this weekend. I didn't have high expectations; my main goal was to enjoy the garden area. However, the food turned out to be exceptional pub fare. I especially loved the beer-battered mushrooms, which were a refreshing change from the usual soggy ones found elsewhere. I will definitely be returning and recommending this place to others!

"Absolutely average restaurant. Dirty bamboo table mats and super dirty windows, kinda sad to look out of them. Impatient service, who under 6 minutes 5 times came back trying to pressure me to take my order. I was confused as I thought it was a restaurant not a fast food place. Silly me who used to live in Japan though the menu is just like there, with pictures. How wrong I was...So getting my phone to have a look at their website, what kinda different that in the restaurant menu card one. When I tried to ask for reconditions, I didn't get any, she just straight away took the last what I asked. The steamed algae was very nice, but my noodle soup was a big surprise, as I have no idea what's roasted (burned) pepper and massive chunks of onions doing there? It's supposed to be sea food, but instead just some burned vegetables scared with frozen octopus, mussels and mini calamari rings poured up with chicken broth. So yeah, kinda disappointing. Drink wise I asked the waitress do they have any tonic water as it isn't listed on the menu card, she looked at me like I am a weirdo. I asked for Roku gin what is my favourite. On the receipt was counted as an extra pound because Japanese. Lol, no comment. Getting the drinks, from other restaurants you get the spirit on the rocks in the glass and front of you they pouring the mixer drink from the mini bottle. Here not, just straight away together as it comes. Oh and don't bother asking without lemon, because you are getting one either way. So Akasaka restaurant did not become my favourite one. Once and last. Easily can be forgotten. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £20–30 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4"
