"Having grown up in the village of Devoran and now living nearby, its sometimes nice to drop in for a drink when we go for a family walk in the area. On our last visit I was appalled at the price we were charged. Two pints of Amstel shandy and two half pints of blackcurrant squash came to £17.60! Absolute rip off. £2.50 per half pint of squash!!! The pub would do well to remember not all of its customers come from affluent backgrounds and in fact, the large majority of the County's population earn a pittance. £6.30 per pint of shandy is what you'd expect in a top notch establishment in London. Not a small village pub in Cornwall which can only muster a score of 3 on its Hygiene Rating. Customer service has always been pretty poor to be honest. On one particular visit I walked into the pub during opening hours and the member staff informed me she wasn't sure if they were open. I thought it was strange bearing in mind she worked there and was stood behind the bar. Anyway, we eventually established I could not buy a drink and I subsequently left. Lovely location but with prices like that it's almost become elitist towards the type of customer it's looking to attract. I saddens me to say I won't be going back."

A really nice pub but, unfortunately, seems to think that anyone wanting a glass of wine earns multiple millions. Made the mistake if ordering one....£12.20!!!!!!! It's not London for goodness sake, total rip off for locals.

After staying at the campsite nearby, we decided to come down to this restaurant for a meal. The staff was welcoming and friendly. They offered a diverse selection of delicious dishes that perfectly matched the lively atmosphere of the pub, along with a variety of ales, ciders, and other drinks. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend it. 5 out of 5 stars.

We had lunch at this pub today as a multi generational group and it was superb. The menu has something for everyone and the helpful staff were happy to adapt our choices to our dietary preferences too. We were very well looked after and our food was delicious you really have to try the mango cheesecake as it's amazing! I really recommend booking a table as it seems popular with visitors and locals alike.

After a pleasant stroll with my partner, we made the decision to visit the Old Quay Inn. Despite some uncertainty after reading reviews on TripAdvisor, we decided to give it a try. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the friendly landlord, John, and the bar staff, Ollie and Tom. I must say, they were fantastic people. Despite some negative reviews claiming the landlord was rude, I can assure you that we received a warm welcome akin to the one and only Alan Partridge.

A disappointing family meal . The menu was very limited, basically chips with a type of burger for £15 a throw. The spicy chicken burgers were uninteresting, definately not spicy accompanied by poor quality frozen type fries, no salad trim on the side, generally very unappealing. I could have put this quality of meal together myself for under a fiver. The place was lacking in ambience and the staff were unattentive. I have wondered about visiting this pub for years, i wish we hadn't bothered!!

This pub is situated at one end of the Bissoe cycle trail that takes you from coast to coast Portreath to Devoran. We were on a family walk utilising the iWalk app the pub advertised itself as serving food all day. When we arrived we were handed menus not told there were any issues. We bought drinks sat down to review the menu. The ONLY vegetarian option was plain chips or cheesy chips. When we enquired, we were met with a sullen uncommunicative unhelpful response told there was only the chip menu on offer which cost £10 each plate! We drank our drinks, used their terribly run down loos left with hungry children! Such a shame given it’s elevated position but with no competition, why would th...

"So let us share our experience, We went in tonight as a family after seeing that it home made food on the drive to sennen and looked online and had a good look at the food available on the menu also looking to see if it was dog friendly and it ticked all the boxes, Upon arrival me and my wife went in 1st to ask if we could have a table for food and if dogs can go inside and staff were a little unsure but they confirmed we could upon asking for a table for 7 but one in a pram he said we don’t have the availability to cater I was looking at a table big enough and eventually said that this table was available whilst being seated we had 2 table one clean and the 2nd just been finished with so needed a clean but he came and cleaned both tables and he squirted the cleaner on a clean table and the over spray bounced off the table and went over our selfs then we were handed a menu freshly printed A4 paper thrown on the table (WET TABLE) so they stuck to the table upon agreeing what we wanted we went to the bar within 2-3 mins of being seated we knew what we wanted and when we asked for the meal it was OUT OF STOCK (Sunday lunch) ok fair so as I was with a family member at the bar I quickly rushed back to the table to ask my daughter of an alternative she wasn’t happy, So I made a meal up of all the extras on the menu so I went back to the bar to find my family member ordered 2 fish and chips then I realised my wife also wanted Sunday lunch so I quickly rushed back to ask her what she wanted and went back to the bar just as my family member left and asked for fish and chips was also sold out also! 99% of the menu was SOLD OUT this should of been discussed upon arrival not as we were ordering I run and operate my own business and this isn’t how I would treat my customers this isn’t how an establishment should be ran! Even when I was standing trying to order a member of staff was standing there arm against the wall doing nothing while customers are standing waiting to be served! So we decided not to eat and my family member went back to the bar to ask for a refund as we couldn’t eat as a family and the staff were iffy about offering a refund but 10 minutes later they did refund my family member as it became a scene for other people as they could see what had happened! This establishment should be call the 1st and late time you come here! We ended up walking to the chip shop down the road for food we are very disappointed in this company and establishment! For anyone who wants to eat please make sure they HAVE STOCK how can this establishment run without stock? Never again tonight they lost over £200 revenue due to this situation!"
