Pretty disappointed overall. Dined in the conservatory and it was very cold. Open sandwich was only just warm when it arrived. Very long wait for desserts to arrive. Won’t be hurrying back, think their standards are slipping.

Great atmosphere, friendly helpful staff. Brilliant with my young grandson! Food was good although the mushrooms were swimming in oil. It was my grandsons 16th birthday and he said how special it felt. Soft drinks silly prices! Overall I would definitely recommend this to my friends and would return....

Absolutely fabulous experience. The Christmas turkey lunch was exceptional. The atmosphere was so lovely with the Christmas decorations. Our server Matt went above and beyond, made us feel comfortable and relaxed, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely recommend and return. My friend brought me here for a birthday meal , and I was amazed by the decor , location and have never seen such a great selection of food that is actually made to a high standard. The atmosphere is great. The food is out of this world. I will be travelling 40 miles to come here time and time again now. Our server Matt went above and beyond for us and was awesome. Highly recommended.

Visited for first time in 8 months, and although the food is amazing I feel the service and venue is letting it down. Food good variety, good quality and taste. However becoming expensive for what it is. Service staff look miserable in their job, and appear slightly lazy by leaving dirty dishes for others to clean. Venue needs a good clean. Dusty and dirty tables. Overall, mixed feelings. Like the food but staff and cleanliness let it down.

We visited the Swan yesterday to celebrate our daughters 1st Birthday. A fabulous meal as always with outstanding customer service from Vivian and all of the team. The food was delicious as it always is and the Christmas decor was stunning. We also had a wonderful surprise from guests on another table who's kindness blew us away. I’ll start by saying I am a big fan of the Chilled Pub brand and have a frequent visitor to most of the pubs and never had any issues. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case today at the Swan. A couple of us ordered the homemade lemonade as this is their usual choice. Unfortunately when the drinks arrived they could only be described as murky water. Absolutely no lemon taste at all. We highlighted this to the waitress who was very apologetic and went to get fresh ones. These were slightly better, and not wanting to make a fuss we accepted them, but they were not good at all, and no where near up to the delicious drinks that we have had previously. Having had a good experience at the sister establishment in Repton, we booked for my wife's birthday. On arrival, we noticed how popular and busy the place was, we met up with our family members and were escorted to the table. On ordering some drinks prior to the meal, we were informed that the only ONE ale of 12 on the menu was available, so ordered bottled beer at £7 8 a go. When ordering food, we were advised that there may be a SLIGHT delay between the delivery of pizzas and other meals ordered. However, when the pizzas arrived, one of which being polite, which was very well done to burnt, and another was bearly cooked. The remaining main courses arrived some 15 20 mins after the pizzas...

At the Swan in Walton on Trent, once synonymous with questionable service, the tides have seemingly turned in a most delightful fashion. Taking a seat, memories of past misdemeanours float in, but hopes of redemption are high. The steak was a glorious tribute to the bovine kind. Each bite was an elegant dance of texture and flavour, reminiscent of driving a classic car with just the right amount of horsepower satisfyingly smooth with no unnecessary frills. The pizza, meanwhile, wasn 't some pretentious overthought dish; it was honest, straightforward, and downright delicious. Like a well designed tool, it did its job perfectly.
