"'The Three Cooks ' have now expanded into 'Castles Inn ' on Earsham Street. They are currently doing a special Thai curry night on the last Wednesday of the month and we attended this last night. The food exceeded expectations I can especially recommend the special combination (4 different curry 's) which offered a wide range of interesting and contrasting flavours on one plate. The dining area has a 'no frills ' feel to it, but the food was very fresh and authentic. Despite the restaurant being full the staff worked hard to ensure quick and efficient service. Great value for money also. Definitely worth a visit."

Tasty and fresh Thai-style food. Didn’t try any of the non-Thai options on the menu. Nice friendly service. Recommended.

We went to the Three Cooks for lunch. Do not be put off by the decor a bit pinky. The Thai fish cakes fabulous and the noodles were lovely. Two delicious courses £10. There are various dishes you can take.

My wife wanted to try this restaurant as a change. The service is excellent, the very good food unusual rather than exotic, more a Cambodian flavour than Cambodian food, and very filling and satisfying. We will definitely return.

Now the curry nights are available is there any need to eat elsewhere? We have been eating at Chans for a few years now and have yet to find anwhere that equals the experience let alone beat it. Dining here is a total experience. Long may it last! No local beer on our visit which was unfortunate so hopefully a one off.

Eight of us attended the new location in the castle Inn. Very polite attentive staff. Food service was great ,nobody had to sit and wait, which is nice as everyone can eat together. Food was so tasty although my sister and niece commented that the pork belly was over cooked and a bit tough. This didn't spoil our over all experience, and we had a lovely time. Thank you.

Told on arrival that it was 'Burger Night ', inspite of having booked a few days previously and not having been advised of this. Reluctantly handed the standard menu and ordered what we had looked forward to eating. Food average and overpriced. Also unable to order a glass of red wine of my choice, (inspite of the standard drinks menu which gave a range of choices) only available was a full bottle of my choice or a glass of Rioja. Wish I 'd not wasted my money.

We had a lovely meal. THe venue was not too crowded. I had a Xmas regular meal of Cambodian beef Broth with beef balls, Slow Cooked lambshank with a mild creamy red curry sauce and a n oriental rice pudding. My vegetarian companion had the Spicy smoked salmon salad with Llime, and the vegetarian version of the Panfried turkey fillet follwed by home made Xmas pud. The food was good and the spice level was right. My only commentis that perhaps they should identify any gluten free dishes.

While camping in the area we ate here on a Sunday night. Had a mixture of the starters and then mains from the Cambodian menu. Absolutely amazing food! Between us we tried the green curry, teriyaki tofu, house noodles and the duck. All cooked beautifully and made with a good mix of different vegetables. Couldn't try any dessert as were too full. Our waitress was amazing, as despite being on her own that evening she served and cleared the table incredibly quickly. Would love to go back there if ever in the area again.

"Having been a regular customer for over a decade to The Bell Inn, I was left very underwhelmed this time. Room was lovely and clean as usual, Tom on reception was fab. We chose to dine in the restaurant as normal and booked for 730pm so we had a nice long evening to enjoy eating and drinking. The menu is now very limited compared to previous years, we chose to have 4 starters to share and some rose wine with bread to start. Slight delay on bread, which came crammed on a small plate, which we had to ask for side plates after waiting for the waitress to reappear…the oil and balsamic was awful, there was so much oil chucked in the ramekin we had to ask for another, to pour some off to try and get to the vinegar. Food came out, and was put on table, again had to ask for side plates as we were sharing and still had bread on the other ones. No drinks check. Had to wait at bar to order more. Food was mediocre at best, we both have very good appetites especially after the harbour walk and some wine! but both ended up just picking at it. Ended up going to room with our wine very early, the only other table in the restaurant that was occupied had some sort of problem ordering due to “fryers being turned off” and got sandwiches and chips instead! Slept well as usual. Went for a quick dog walk before breakfast and narrowly avoided being hit by the chef arriving at 845am in the car park. Arrived on time for breakfast at 9am, lovely, lovely waitress served us, ordered full English and pot of tea, partner the same with coffee. Took a sip of the tea and it was barely lukewarm… spoke to waitress who was very apologetic and bought me a fresh one, turns out the rest of the room all had the same problem with tea and coffee as the urn hadn’t been turned on in time see chef comment food came out and was delicious and hot, and top quality as usual, we cleared our plates! Room was spotlessly clean, and the Tyneham hand wash/cream is so good! Overall disappointing as I know how good this place can be, and the first time I’ve ever encountered any problems. As stated before it was not busy in the slightest compared to previous years, so no excuse really. I will return as The Bell holds dear memories for me, I hope next year it will have ironed out these problems and be back to full glory!"
