The Walrus - Speisekarte

Very dissapointed that the manager/host was very rude to a group of 4 ladies that i think had a problem with there meal,she targeted them till they felt they had to leave. As they were leaving she called them a holes over the mic, it was the caberet act showlesque.

Booked for the Jazz Sunday Lunch, not sure what to expect. We were blown away! It was like disappearing into a secret Jazz club! Sat in our gorgeous booth, we had exceptional service, great food and wine, all accompanied by the most amazing, chilled out jazz. It's definitely an experience, and we will be back again!

A great venue for Sunday lunch with the family Gr8 food and especially superb service from Dan Lucy who looked after our family of six 10/10 for the Service Starters of Small Plates were a delight with fresh ingredients plus my choice of Roast Belly of Pork was cooked to perfection Be careful the portions are huge but tasty Thanks for a great relaxed lunch Speisekarte ansehen

Thought I had reserved a table as the booking system even only shows you the slots supposedly available. Got confirmation. Then once getting there they say they can’t find my booking. Looked at my emails and apparently it was only an “enquiry” which was then cancelled. A bit of a shame as it genuinely looked like a booking confirmation. Perhaps making this clearer would go a long way.

We booked a table of 4 with dogs in the bar. It was a sunny Saturday and the pub was busy. We were allocated a great table and had fabulous service from the minute we arrived. There was a great menu and so much was gluten free!!! The choices were brilliant! I was beside myself! The food was utterly delicious! The service was not too fast and not too slow. Despite how busy they were they did not try to rush us either. Massively recommend this place!

Big group of us met up at the Walrus for drinks dinner at the weekend. Service was good, dirty glasses were cleared away quickly there was service with a smile. I ordered the vegan black bean burger it was ok, nice enough but wouldn’t order it again. It had a strange Smokey flavour that I wasnt expecting wasn’t a fan of. Chips were nice though. My partner ordered a pulled pork sandwich was very surprised when it was served on a flat bread with no top (as in sandwich with top bit of bread missing). He said it tasted ok though. All in all the food wasn’t great but it was a nice warm pub with a good atmosphere. Would probably eat elsewhere next time… Speisekarte ansehen

Arrived about 7 and stayed for a couple of hours. Very interesting pub with more rooms than I could count. Everything worked like it should: reserved table was in a good spot (not that I could find a bad one), food came within a sensible time, good selection of drinks, odd requests catered for. The first thing that made it stand out was the quality of the serving staff really nice people with an interest in us having a good night out. Our ancient poodle was also made most welcome. The second thing was the quality of the food particularly the aubergine with or without chicken and the halloumi salad. What a find this place was!!! After seeing it recommended in gluten free Facebook group, we tried it at short notice after not planning anywhere to eat on a day out. We were both super impressed by the menu and as a pescatarian, wheat intolerant, I was so happy with the number of delicious sounding dishes I could eat! I was spoiled for choice!! They had a good few vegetarian and plant based too. We had crispy fried squid, smoked mackerel and baked goats cheese from the small dishes section. Just back from another trip to brighton with my NHS colleagues and 5 friends, four of us chose to go to the “cabaret show” with 3 course dinner as we all felt it would be a great start to our Saturday night and as the venue was open to public around 9pm the others would meet us for drinks after the show had finished. All sounds great? NO! was the worst night out ever! The evening started well with the starters then went down hill after that.
