Nice pub with friendly staff and good Guinness. The curry of the day was excellent in a home cooked old school way, as was the home made rice pudding. Enjoyed it so much went back the following night and had the same again! Price per person: £20–30

The food and service were fantastic! The staff were amazing—thank you! Price per person: £10–£20. I would rate the food a 5, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 5. Recommended dishes include the Smothered Chicken and the Roast. As for parking, there is plenty available, with free parking lots.

A group of five of us visited on a Thursday night and had an exceptional experience. The food was outstanding, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Four of us ordered the rib-eye, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. One person chose the chicken vindaloo and absolutely loved it, remarking on the generous portion of chicken. I went along with 3 friends and our booked table was not suitable but Donna very seamlessly moved us to a more suitable one. I had steak pie with chips and veg and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Very tasty and a reasonable price too. Parking: The White Lion is nestled snugly in the village of Childer Thornton. A real little gem and well worth seeking out. You will not be disappointed. Kid-friendliness: We went in at about 5pm. There were a few children, eating out with their parents. Not a problem at all.

Came for my mother's 65th birthday on Thursday evening and wow I was very impressed with the pub what a gorgeous place, we was greater by Donna who was fantastic very engaging and down to earth. We all had starters black pudding stack mushrooms fishcake and prawn cocktail for the birthday girl she was very impressed with the amount if prawns, my Stilton mushrooms where unreal I had a ribeye for main which again was unreal cooked to perfection. The kids had chips cheese and gravy and loved every bit with ice cream after. Unfortunately we never had any room left for dessert but will deffo be back for the famous roast they do and hopefully fit a dessert in then. Speisekarte ansehen
