A great find for lunch in Honiton breaking a journey from Cornwall to London. So much more lovely than motorway services to stop and explore beautiful towns and villages just near the motorway . Wow! This was a fantastic spot for lunch. The food was excellent and offered a nice change from the usual fare. The interior was stunning; I didn't expect it to be so impressive. I will definitely return! However, keep in mind that they don't serve alcohol, so our decision might depend on our mood.

Having dined there twice, I highly recommend Yellow Deli for its laid-back atmosphere and cozy surroundings. The staff is friendly and accommodating, which enhances the experience. I'm concerned that this restaurant is operated by an organization known as the Twelve Tribes, which has been linked to troubling beliefs and practices. There are serious allegations against them, including support for mass genocide, antisemitism, racism, and homophobia, as well as reports of child abuse. It's been documented that they may exploit child labor, with disturbing footage available online showing harsh treatment of children, some as young as three years old, if they make mistakes while working. What a wonderful find! We had no idea about the Yellow Deli before our visit, and it turned out to be an incredible experience. The staff was beautiful, friendly, and welcoming, and the menu was fantastic, offering absolutely delicious food. The Deli Rose sandwich is phenomenal, and as we've been told, it's the same recipe that has been used for decades. It’s easy to see why—they don't fix what isn't broken! The prices are reasonable, and the restrooms are lovely as well. The ethos of the community behind the Yellow Deli shines through, creating a relaxed and memorable experience. We will definitely be back to try more of the beautifully described dishes!

The coffee is excellent and reasonably priced, plus it’s refillable for black coffee (though I'm not sure about other types). The food is delicious, and the cheese toasties are particularly noteworthy. The interior design adds to the charm; it's undoubtedly the most beautiful café/deli I've ever visited. I've heard that the staff spent years hand-renovating the space, and it truly shows. On sunny days, sitting upstairs at the back offers stunning views of the Blackdown Hills. On rainy days or in the evening, you can enjoy the cozy booths and dark wood decor downstairs. There are plenty of plug sockets if you plan to use your laptop.
