"I and my partner came here on Sunday night. After we left another local pub because of very bad customer service, we both decided that we come to their amazing pub we have often eaten here together and with different parties and have never been disappointed. we both had appetizers I had the stylton mushrooms and he had the black pudding, both were cooked to perfection mains also not disappoint that I had the slowly cooked lamb and my partner had the steak from which both just melted in our mouth the staff was unbelievable and so polite that we soon will eat with them again"

Absolutely fantastic as always went in straight away seated and greeted as always from James always makes us feel at home within five minutes our lovely roast was there to eat thanks again for a lovely meal can’t wait for Christmas Day booked already

The food, the scenery, the staff. Perfect combination! We have visited twice and we have fallen in love with the venue. The quality, the service and the well mannered staff surpasses any Michelin stars rated restaurant we've visited around the globe. Thank you very much. I made a group booking for 14 people on 20th January. A big ask for a busy Saturday night. Our guests of honour were from America and I wanted a pub with good food and drink, character, history, good service and able to successfully deliver meals for a large group. Absolutely bowled over with everything, a perfect night, many thanks to all at the pub. Will go there again. My new favourite pub!

Thanks to all your lovely staff for looking after myself and my family last night. My Auntie her partner stayed over with yourselves after travelling from the Lakes. We came to celebrate what would have been my Dad’s 80th birthday had he still been with us, and you all made it really special, we loved the banter, the rum snatches and my Mam loved her HAGGIS!! Thank to you all, we’ll be back....that’s if you’ll have us! xx
