"2nd time here gave it the benefit of the doubt, arrived at 5:45pm, no one to greet us or the other family that arrived at the same time to check in. Shown to table and drinks ordered quick service and friendly waitresses. Ordered the starters and mains, to then be told there was no fillet left (at least 3 tables after us asked for the fillet too , maybe when showing people to their table things that have ran out could be mentioned then? The fillet must be a favourite as it had ran out last time we were there too. 40 minutes later our starters arrived, I had ordered the Wagyu brisket BIG MISTAKE! 95% Fat and 5% beef/meat…(see the pic was lovely presented! The waitress was lovely and took it back, for the chef to try and pan it off as “it’s a fatty cut” brisket does have fat but also includes more than a tiny sliver of meat. They offered to cook another which also suggested that they knew it wasn’t it, but I could be wrong. After the 40min wait and poor start we were just looking to get our mains and leave. The mains came…wagyu burger, again big mistake. The chips were lovely. The burger, well I could hardly cut it with the knife as it was rock solid far too over cooked, quite like the bun which had been cremated and was the stodgy iest “brioche” bun I’ve ever had. We got the bill and realised that we had been charged £2 for the cheese (which had been burnt too although it’s advertised as cheese bacon £2 so you’d think it would be £1 each. By this point we just wanted to leave, the food was awful. Would not recommend to anyone and most certainly will not be returning. Which is a shame as it could be such a great place and seeing the photos on trip advisor make it look lovely!"

Delightful surroundings, lovely and attentive service and the food is truly amazing. Such a variety and locally sourced. Such a collection of whisky!

Haven’t been since before lockdown but it was even better than last time (and it was fab then). So much was home made with emphasis on local produce. Loved it.

Just found by accident when doing a whisky tour. Amazing; recently refurbished and has an incredible whisky bar! Food was great and the staff made you feel very welcomed.

Went for lunch for Father’s Day with family. Really attentive service, menu options were great, between us we had vegetable broth, haggis Benedict and lobster roll and daughter had flatbread pizza off the child’s menu. Lovely food, filling portions and was all freshly cooked, and very pleasantly surprised with the final bill which was very reasonable. Would definitely recommend and plan to go back.

My wife and I called in by chance early on a Friday evening. We were offered a table in the Pagoda Restaurant which was comfortably furnished and tasteful. My wife chose the soup option which was perfectly tasty with suspiciously microwaved rolls as the edges were hard. I chose the shoulder of beef for the main course which had a nice combination of flavours but was presented luke warm if not tepid. The plate was verging on cold. We chose not to have a dessert and mentioned the fact that the food was luke warm though no response was forthcoming from the kitchen. I would describe the culinary experience as disappointing.

While touring in the Speyside, we found ourselves in Rothes around lunch time. I found Toot's Cafe in The Station Hotel through Tripadvisor and thought we'd give it a try. It was a very pleasant surprise. We were actually the only people in the cafe but were quickly greeted by the hostess and waitress. I had a lovely piece of salmon see photo) and my wife and son enjoyed their meals as well. The cafe and dining room of the hotel are busy for the dinner meal, according the hostess. Lunch is not their busy time, but they accommodated us graciously. Also got a tour of the Scotch collection. All in all, it was a lovely experience and a good meal as well. Speisekarte ansehen

When first opened after renovation the Toots bar area was thriving and provided fantastic quality bar meals. This is the first time I've visited in a while and arriving at 7pm on a Saturday night the Toots bar was empty, not a single soul around. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The menu has definitely changed, out with the good old favourites and replaced by a menu with items that sounded sourced from Masterchef. The starters, though extremely small, we're really nice (Local Roe Deer, and Shetland Scallops) the main course was much better portioned and was very tasty, Buffalo Shoulder, and a Buffalo Burger. The sweet however was extremely disappointing for those who chose the...

Firstly our waitress was lovely and very attentive and the surroundings (Pergolas Restaurant) very tasteful. It 's a pity the food doesn 't measure up. Visited last month and have taken a while to decide to write this review but went to another venue last week and quality was night and day. We took friends who were visiting here last month and wish we had chosen better. Most of us had shin of beef croquette to start this was lovely but tiny, our friends had risotto which was dry and pigeon which seemed totally impossible to eat (and not much of it) monkfish which was very tasty but for £26 again tiny (3 square), mine was fine. Clootie dumpling was our puddings. Now what was served was nice b...

"Genuinely couldn't fault the experience. When I heard that the Drouthy had a new menu focusing more on a veggie and vegan base, I knew I had to give it a whirl. The starter of hot Smoked salmon with lemon creme fraiche and oatcakes was simple yet packed full of flavour. I could have easily have had 10 plates of that and been happy to give it 5 stars. My partner had the smoked duck and even though I have given up meat, I was salivating at the look of their dish. They assure me that it was as delicious as it looked. Served with lavender roasted potatoes (which I'm told were amazing and charred salsify. The mains were more than a match for the brilliant starters. If I could give one piece of advice, it would be get the beetroot risotto. Not being a massive fan of beetroot, I wasn't too sure about it. But the incredibly warm waiter (for my son's, I never got his name. I only hope he can forgive me if he reads this! assured me it was tasty. He was not wrong. Beautifully cooked vegan risotto with balsamic beetroot chunks, shiitake mushrooms and rocket, it was simply divine. WHEN I go back, I'll be hard pressed to go for anything else because it was so delicious. It was creamy, packed full of flavour and cooked absolutely perfectly. Just the right amount of bite, nowhere near being mush like you get in a lot of other places (who charge a lot more, by the way . Superb. The highest of compliments to the chef. I was so taken by my dish I forgot to ask how my partner's was until I had eaten all of mine. But their home made vegan tagliatelle had disappeared from the plate so it must have been amazing. I couldn't handle dessert so had a delicious ruby port (delaforce I think it was called , and I would also like to give credit to whoever came up with their wine list. It covered every single base and no-one could ever be disappointed. Finally, if you're ever in Elgin, please make sure this is one of your destinations. You will leave extremely happy."
