"What a brilliant community pub that openly welcomes visitors. During our visit to Broadlands Sands Holiday Park the 6 of us went for a walk following the coast and on the way back popped in to this pub for a warm up drink. The main bar was busy with locals watching the football so we went in to the other bar where it was quieter and then out to the conservatory area where we found some comfy sofas at one end and settled in. The IPA was lovely as was the Lurcher stout. Cups of tea were had by two of the ladies, no sweet sherry for them this time . We met Ghost the beautiful rescue Husky who is clearly adored by those who go there as well as some other well behaved dogs so the pub is very dog friendly. We also noticed quite a few other groups of walkers popping in. We did get a tad rowdy with our laughter and had a great few hours there without any hassle. The only photos we have focus on someone impersonating Wally We already had our food sorted at the caravan so didnt eat there hut what we saw being served to the tables looked yummy. A great respite on a nice walk"

Lovely pub, serving freshly prepared dishes and the desserts are beautiful, especially the lemon cheesecake. We had scampi, and fish, freshly prepared and thd homemade pizza got a thumbs up from my son. Also very dog friendly and the little convenient store on site is perfect. Highly recommend a visit if in Corton.

my man and I just went into the opposite and ate here twice. eating is large and generously cut. the personal has already given us a warm greeting and seems to really like to work here, which is not always visible in many pubs restaurant’s. all in all we can recommend the white horse for a friendly reception and a good meal.

we spent days in this area of abbey and went here to the edge of the moment as we were hungry after our long journey. so glad that we did, the cod and chips was absolutely amazing, definitely not jump on the portion sizes. we spent the evening here with pool and darts. it was so much we enjoyed the next night back. personal is really friendly and welcoming. I got a few small bottles prosseco when the renter realized it was my birthday. I have to add that the lamb shank should die. definitiw will return

I'm glad I didn't read the reviews below before I visit. I and my partner had a nice meal. she had the fish cake as an appetizer and claimed that they were the best they had ever eaten I had the mushroomstroganoff that was really delicious. no long wait for our meals and we could not harm the service or quality of food. at the arrival we and our dog were warmly welcomed and all the staff and local were friendly. we were close on holiday and made two more visits for drinks and saw several satisfied customers. if I should create constructive criticism - it would be that the vegetarian options are limited and want to see a greater choice. but to be fair, that is true for many restaurants. I wou...

"Having been a regular customer for over a decade to The Bell Inn, I was left very underwhelmed this time. Room was lovely and clean as usual, Tom on reception was fab. We chose to dine in the restaurant as normal and booked for 730pm so we had a nice long evening to enjoy eating and drinking. The menu is now very limited compared to previous years, we chose to have 4 starters to share and some rose wine with bread to start. Slight delay on bread, which came crammed on a small plate, which we had to ask for side plates after waiting for the waitress to reappear…the oil and balsamic was awful, there was so much oil chucked in the ramekin we had to ask for another, to pour some off to try and get to the vinegar. Food came out, and was put on table, again had to ask for side plates as we were sharing and still had bread on the other ones. No drinks check. Had to wait at bar to order more. Food was mediocre at best, we both have very good appetites especially after the harbour walk and some wine! but both ended up just picking at it. Ended up going to room with our wine very early, the only other table in the restaurant that was occupied had some sort of problem ordering due to “fryers being turned off” and got sandwiches and chips instead! Slept well as usual. Went for a quick dog walk before breakfast and narrowly avoided being hit by the chef arriving at 845am in the car park. Arrived on time for breakfast at 9am, lovely, lovely waitress served us, ordered full English and pot of tea, partner the same with coffee. Took a sip of the tea and it was barely lukewarm… spoke to waitress who was very apologetic and bought me a fresh one, turns out the rest of the room all had the same problem with tea and coffee as the urn hadn’t been turned on in time see chef comment food came out and was delicious and hot, and top quality as usual, we cleared our plates! Room was spotlessly clean, and the Tyneham hand wash/cream is so good! Overall disappointing as I know how good this place can be, and the first time I’ve ever encountered any problems. As stated before it was not busy in the slightest compared to previous years, so no excuse really. I will return as The Bell holds dear memories for me, I hope next year it will have ironed out these problems and be back to full glory!"
