The service, hospitality, and atmosphere were excellent. The staff were very attentive and the Sunday roast was delicious. Thank you Tony and team for a great dining experience.

Sunday lunch for ten, from Derby, Nottingham and London. Sheltering from torrential rain in a cosy room with a fire. Food hot, freshly cooked, in huge portions! Friendly service, lots of choice, including children’s options.

We were lucky enough to stay next door to the Gate, visiting for the second time. It's a lovely little pub, good food, open fire and friendly people. We arrived at the correct time to b told our booking had been cancelled.as it was an 80th birthday celebration we were disappointed and upset by the rudeness of the landlord. Then we went to the other pub in the village where the staff were super friendly and the food was great so we had a lovely evening would highly recommend the miners Arms and avoid ye old gate inn

We were staying in the village and came here for a birthday dinner. Excellent food in sizeable portions. Especially notable were pumpkin soup, hearty and full of flavour, and chunky chips to go with well timed steaks. Our nephew also commended highly the steak and ale pie. A cosy setting. In many ways a traditional pub you won't find a wine list but the wine they offered was fine

While staying in a nearby village, this inn was recommended to us and we decided to give it a try for lunch. We were pleasantly surprised by the charming and quaint old pub with a lovely garden and picturesque views. The weather was nice, so we opted to dine outside with our dog (who was also welcomed indoors). We appreciated the short blackboard menu featuring home-cooked meals. The trout and the chicken with mushrooms and tarragon sauce were both delicious. The service was charming and the lunch was truly relaxing. We highly recommend this place! Speisekarte ansehen

We were a group of 8 women celebrating a friends birthday and staying in Bradbourne for the weekend. We had booked a table in advanced and walked over to Brassington across the fields on the public footpaths. We were therefore ready to do justice to a Sunday roast lunch on arrival. Ye Olde Gate Inne did not disappoint in fact it surpassed our expectations. The quality and quantity of food was exceptional with service prompt and attentive. In fact the main course was so filling none of us could manage a dessert which for us is unheard of! Top marks to Ye Olde Gate Inne. If we are in the area again we will certainly return. Thank you.

We just had the most amazing Sunday Roast at this charming old-fashioned pub! Upon a warm welcome, we were seated next to a beautiful fireplace with shining brass decorations. We all decided to try the Sunday Roast with options of lamb, beef, and turkey. The meal came with a generous portion of freshly cooked vegetables, including creamed leeks and carrots/swede. The huge Yorkshire puddings were a hit and the portions were so large that we couldn't finish them all. Unfortunately, we were too stuffed to try any of the tempting desserts. This pub is a hidden gem in a lovely village, with fantastic hosts and delicious food. We will definitely be returning!

We were visiting a few churches in the area with a group of 10 friends and we had booked into The Gate for lunch. What a warm welcome we received. The fire was burning brightly in the grate, the brasses were gleaming and the tables were all invitingly laid out ready for our meal. The menu had lots of choice but most of us were enticed by the pie menu, steak Stilton being the most popular with game pie and chicken leek also chosen. The servings were so generous that only a few of us had room for afters but these also looked delicious . A good selection of real ales too. Excellent service and ambiance.
