"My husband and I paid a visit to our favourite local restaurant tonight and as usual we were not disappointed. Even though it was very busy Dhruba the proprietor squeezed us in and gave us a lovely welcome. Usually we order from the extensive menu but we decided to try the buffet for a change. It was fantastic from start to finish. Our very attentive waitress brought us our wine and after a few minutes she informed us that the freshly cooked starters were ready. We had a huge choice including poppadoms with numerous dips. So yummy ! We had to remind ourselves that this was not the main part of the meal. My husband ordered a cheese naan and once it arrived at our table we returned to the buffet for our main course. What to choose ? There were a selection of 9 different curries ranging from mild to medium/ hot. Something for everyone. I think I tried 6 but had no room for anymore. All were exceptional. Loved them all. Included in the buffet price is 2 scoops of ice cream which was very welcome and slid down very well after after a lovely spicy meal. I can’t recommend the 4 Cs highly enough. We love it."

"This charming restaurant located outside of town also has a take-away fish and chip shop attached. We sat in the bright and airy conservatory with lovely views, however, it was quite noisy and the sound echoed. Luckily, they offer a separate menu for those with gluten sensitivities, which was perfect for my wife who suffers from Coeliac Disease. We dined with a friend and enjoyed the Pie of the day (steak and white pudding with flaky pastry top), chicken schnitzel, and buttered chicken for my wife. All the dishes were beautifully presented, hot, and delicious. We even had room for dessert, which included a Cowshed sundae, ice creams and sorbet, and a gluten-free rice pudding with compote and sorbet. It was a very relaxed evening, aside from the noisy table. I have already made a reservation for next week, this time opting for indoor seating. The restaurant also features modern toilets and a spacious car park."

"We came for dinner on a Friday night, looking forward to trying somewhere new while we were visiting Banchory. When we arrived we were surprised at the size of the restaurant, it is small and looked more like a takeaway than somewhere for dinner. It was also very quiet with only one other table occupied. When ordering our food we asked if they could make us a plain tomato pasta as there was no dairy/meat free options. We were immediately told no and offered options containing cream and meat which we explained we couldn’t eat. We asked for the special without the aubergine but we’re also told no as the meals were all ‘pre-made’. We were then offered a pizza which we decided to decline as it became clear that we were not going to enjoy the meal. The woman behind the counter shook her head at us as we left, as though we had done something wrong. The atmosphere in the restaurant was awkward and it seems to be more of a takeaway than somewhere to enjoy a meal. Can’t comment on the food as we didn’t eat, however I would not return."

"I had just finished climbing Ben Macdui and all of the restaurants were closed. We decided to try this takeaway. My wife and I both had the vegetarian chow mein and I had a portion of chips as well. After 12 hours walking I was really hungry and this hit the spot. The portion size was really good, I was full after the chow mein. It was piping hot, crispy and crunchy and cooked to perfection. The chips were also crispy and cooked to perfection. I was more than satisfied after eating this meal."

"We were looking forward to a nice coffee ,possibly a cake or scone.I decided on the special Victoria cake and husband decided on sausage egg and chips, two flat whites. The sausage egg and chips was good although he said the eggs were a few seconds away from being perfect. My sponge ,although tasting nice ,was dry ,it felt a bit stale, however, the coffee was awful. Flat white as advertised is supposed to be a double shot, strong with foaming milk.it should be coffee mixed with the milk to look dark and milky.Tge moment it was laid down we knew it was week and wishy washy.abd it didn't disappoint. On a good note the staff were nice and it was clean. It's just annoying when one plays nearly £6.00 for two coffee's and it's ****."

"First of all apologies to all those poor and terrible reviews that I ignored and shouldn’t have! Within half an hour of arriving we contemplated going home. Check in was a rushed affair with no exchange of pleasantries. The main focus of the female owner...was for us to get our breakfast and dinner pre orders in ASAP. When I returned back through I started ordering breakfast and a comment was made about ‘that’s a lot’. When I said cereal and cooked breakfast, twice more comments were made about ordering a lot of food and was I sure I wanted so much. As someone who struggles with my body image I was mortified and asked was I not allowed to order what I had. It was pointed out I would be charged extra for cereal!! I ended up cancelling this more through embarrassment than anything else. (I have to point out here that we had spent two nights previously at the lovely Carnoustie Hotel. The Lodge was £50 dearer per room than Carnoustie who had no surcharges on anything and whose staff were super attentive. I’ve also worked in hotels so know about customer service) The room at the lodge whilst large and looking into the loch was not particularly amazing. On closer inspection it wasn’t very clean in corners and one of the face cloths was brown rather than white. The room above was occupied on second night and the room is not well insulated so we could hear every footstep, etc. I also felt that the shared walkway outside left the room with no privacy. We went for dinner in the very outdated restaurant/bar on the first night. There was a total of five other guests and no atmosphere at all. We had just sat down when our starters arrived, then my husband just finished the last bite of his when the plate was removed as clearly our main course was ready. This is what I hate about pre ordering the food had clearly been kept warming. Our plates cleared again no pleasantries, no checking if it was ok, nothing. Our sum total time for what was a basic pub grub dinner was 25 min start to finish! It was so disappointing and rushed that we went into Aboyne the second night for tea. Breakfast wasn’t much better Curt questions, overcooked bacon and black pudding, our dirty plates left in front of us so we didn’t feel welcome to sit and have a relaxing cup of tea to start the day. Just absolutely no finesse or luxury at all. I have no issue paying astronomical prices if you get what you pay for an you absolutely do not get value for money here and if not careful could run up a number of surcharges. The lodge is, as one other review states, a complete rip off especially when compared to our stay at Carnoustie and other much nicer hotels. I notice some people saying they felt like family well I must be the black sheep as I did not feel at all welcome at this place and was on edge whenever i was anywhere near the female owner after her attitude to me from the outset. The male owner didn’t even speak to me the whole stay and when my husband handed in key he was only concerned with had we paid no check made if everything had been ok. In fact we both felt that the owners were more focused on making money than customer service. So in conclusion take a lesson from my mistake and DO NOT stay here there are far more nicer places to go for a lot less money!! Read the other negative reviews as they are all pretty accurate and I wished I had listened to them."

"I visited this restaurant for the first time today, on Friday, June 9th, 2023. The service was fantastic, the food presentation was excellent, and the dishes were served piping hot and very tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning soon! The atmosphere, service, and food all received a rating of 5 out of 5. The price per person for lunch was between £20–30."

"Myself and a group of friends spent the night here and enjoyed our stay. When we entered we were greated warmly and shown to our rooms. She took time to check if we'd made arrangements for eating that night and advised us of breakfast arrangements....The room and en suite bathroom were spotlessly clean and the bed comfortable. After setting in we had a few drinks at the bar and again the service was pleasant and friendly Breakfast next was a selection of cereals, fruit and yoghurt followed by a full breakfast which was plentiful and very well cooked along with plenty tea and toast. Finally as we left we were offered some old towels to dry the rain off our motorcycles which was a very nice touch. Great service."

"amazing Chinese cuisine. large selection of dressed that are cooked so well and very tasty. the staff could not be more friendly, they make them so welcome. I have allergy to tomato and always find difficult to eat, as there is hardly any choice for me. for this restaurant it is not a problem that I can eat almost everything on the menu. every time we go through, we'll stop for a hard one. please try it is absolutely excellent. the tsingtao is brilliant, so is the wein."

"The food at this restaurant is excellent, the prices are reasonable, and the service is attentive without being pushy. I have visited several times before and the standard is always consistent. It is definitely worth a visit. The dining experience includes dinner and the price per person typically ranges from £20–30. Overall, I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere a 4 out of 5."

"This is a lovely spot. My parents and I popped in for a quick coffee as we were running behind schedule. We all agreed that the drinks (a mocha, a latte, and 2 hot chocolates) were delicious. The atmosphere was peaceful, likely due to the rainy Thursday afternoon at 16:00. I would definitely suggest giving this place a try."

"Visited the restaurant at Raemoir garden centre with friends for a light lunch however, it was difficult to find anything plain on the menu. The Lite Bites menu seemed to contain so many ingredients so if you didn 't like one you were stuck. Sandwiches and baked potatoes all seemed to contain mayonnaise, coleslaw, onion or pickle etc, and if you cannot have cheese you are limited. Even the chicken salad contained bacon, caesar dressing and Parmesan cheese topped with croutons. All salads are served with red onion or avocado with a dressing on the side. Difficult if you don 't like any of these ingredients. If you want a heavier lunch such as fish and chips then this is the place to go. My friends had a full meal which they enjoyed and judging by the queue to get in, this is a popular place. The servers were polite and pleasant."

"Recently visited this site with my daughter for the play area and dinner. Was greeted at the door by Emma, who happily took us to a nice table nearby the play area. She then served me at the bar again, being fast and precise while engaging in conversation with me. The food was a good price for the portion size, and the play area was fun and safe for my little one."

"After a visit to the gallery at the Milton I went with friends and family to the Milton Brasserie for a coffee. It was drizzling outside and we wanted a warm friendly place to chat before heading home in different directions. Unfortunately we found the opposite the waitresses looked really fed up, there was no atmosphere at all, the Maître d' barely lifted her head when we arrived and turned her back on us when we left. But the worst thing was that the coffee was the worst I've ever had. Not to moan too much but how is it possible to make such awful, bitter coffee with such a beautiful Italian coffee machine. I doubt I'll be back, shame as the place looks lovely from the outside."

"I would recommend not choosing the carvery at this restaurant. I was extremely disappointed, especially since I was looking forward to it. The Roast Beef was so tough that I couldn't even cut it with a knife, and they had run out of mashed and roast potatoes. We had to wait for a long time for our plates to be served with meat, and by the time the potatoes arrived, my food had already gone cold. The vegetables were only lukewarm, the stuffing was like rubber, and we didn't receive the extras we had paid for. The person serving at the carvery seemed overwhelmed and unhelpful. After being seated, we waited 20 minutes for someone to take our drinks order. We did complain and were given a 20% discount on our bill, which didn't make up for the fact that we couldn't even eat half of our meal due to its poor quality. However, I must mention that the server who took our complaint was very kind and handled the situation well. Despite the issues we faced, she was cheerful and dealt with our complaints professionally. I would suggest finding another restaurant for your Sunday lunch."

"My son's birthday was recently celebrated at The Falls of Feugh Restaurant, and it was truly wonderful. The food was fantastic, offering generous portions at affordable prices. I ordered the duck and it was incredibly delicious. The atmosphere was ideal for our celebration, creating a cozy and welcoming environment. The service was excellent, ensuring that all ten of us were well looked after throughout the evening. If you're seeking a place with delicious food, a charming ambiance, and top-notch service, The Falls of Feugh Restaurant is a superb option. I highly recommend it!"

"Cracking little tearoom. Looking in from the outside I thought it would be seeing how busy it was. I did secure a seat but it was a table for so I felt a wee bit guilty using it on my own. However I was soon joined by a couple of the local ladies and had pleasant chat with them I had an egg mayonnaise sandwich which came with a side salad. This was joined shortly by a lovely wholewheat scone with jam and cream and all washed down with a pot of tea Service was prompt and friendly, and with total cost of under I would highly recommend visit if you are in Peterhead."

"Invited here for a birthday lunch with my in-laws. Situated just off the so didn't have to travel too far outside of Aberdeen to get there. We were one of two dining parties at the restaurant, so there was plenty of room in the...dining area, even on a Saturday. Inside was nicely decorated with mounted photos of Scottish rural areas and a prints from local artists. I particularly enjoyed the background music, which was chilled out trip hop. Ordered scallops in Romesco sauce with chorizo as a starter, which I quickly demolished as the scallops were perfectly cooked with a nice balance of rich, mildly spiced flavours. Went for Shetland mussels in a tandoori sauce (that days preparation) with skinny fries for the main, which was equally tasty and satisfying and made a nice change from the standard mussel sauces usually on offer. There was a good range of vegan and gluten free options on the menu, and it was nice to see different vegan ice-creams as dessert options (I had the chocolate with orange blossom) as well as or fruit sorbets. The young waiter who served us was also excellent throughout and my wife and in-laws all said they enjoyed their meals. I also particularly liked the chef made chocolate tablet that was served complimentarily with our coffee. One very minor criticism: I noticed a log burner near to where we were seated, and it would have been nice to have had this burning on what a fairly cold day."

"we live in a beautiful village, gardenstown at banff in Scotland. we went to banff and searched for fish and chips. I had seen the lighthouse fish store at an earlier visit. we ordered large fish and chips and a part of sampi, £14.50 it advertises...a food in the facility. we had a look and the one seat was used by employees/family for their meal times, so we brought them back to the car to eat them. do not get their fish and chips from here! suspicious hygiene and not inviting. eating was best edible, but nothing else. I wouldn't see."

"before place it was okay. we had fish choppers, sampi, chicken bugs, and we made ourselves better everywhere, but everything in all was ok. price, taste, quantity etc. was sufficient but nothing to rave over. the premise themselves were quite basic and lacked in modernization in the last decades, but it is a village finally."
