"I am a 72 year old lady who met a friend for lunch and was asked to remove my car as it was blocking the managers driveway. I had to park out in the street as the restaurant car park was closed due to works. I explained to the waitress that I had left the house driveway clear but if it was a real problem I would move it. She said its okay for the now. Towards the end of the lunch this woman (who turned out to be the Manage'rs wife came over and very aggressively shouted and pointed her finger at me and said if I did not remove my car within 10 minutes she would not be responsible if it was hit by her Range Rover. I tried to explain that I had already spoke to the waitress and said that if it was a real problem I would move it. However I did not get finished my explanation as she stormed out through the back of the pub! I did then go and move my car but I was left very shaken and asked to speak to the Manager and was told that he was not available but I had seen him two minutes before dealing with a small tractor with a fork lift on front who was delivering turf and had managed to get into the driveway before I had a chance o move my car!! I thought it was terrible that the Manager would not come and speak to me and I will never be back there again and neither will my friends having, been a number of times in the past. I took a picture of the space I had left and there is plenty of room to get into the driveway!!"

"We arrived, family of 3, we were seated swiftly by a very pleasant gentleman and then it all went downhill. Waited at least 20 minutes for our order to be taken, gave up and went to the desk to order only to be greeted by a waitress saying “I will be over to take your order in a few minutes”. Shocked that she wouldn’t take my order at the desk I went and sat back down. We would have left if it was not for the fact we had promised our daughter pancakes as a last treat before school. The waitress finally came over, saw another table waiting for their order to be taken and said ‘I’m not sure who was first?’, thankfully the other table kindly said it was us, so she took our order first not that it made any difference, will explain below, (2 sparkling waters with lemon slice, lemon sugar pancake with cream, cinnamon sugar pancake with cream, and naughty notella with cream). Drinks arrived, unopened and glasses had no lemon which we specifically asked for and no ice. Now to make a situation even worse the other table received their food first! The waitress simply said ours was coming, there must have been a mix up in the kitchen….. A further 5 minutes later and 2 out of the 3 pancakes arrived, except we had no cutlery so we just got to sit and admire it imagine what it tasted like. The waitress then brought cutlery over and brought the 3rd pancake out which had ice cream instead of cream so had to send it back on the plus side it came back with a double helping of cream which made our daughter’s eyes pop out on stalks. (That gave them 1 star). On another plus side, hence the extra 1 star, the pancakes were hot and tasty our daughter kept saying how yummy the naughty notella was. HOWEVER, for the portion size, (3 thin pancakes each), the price was extortionate! 3 pancakes 2 sparkling waters for £25.50 for poor service rude staff. This was our first visit and needless to say also our last! Highly do NOT recommend visiting Olney Pancake Parlour unless you have time to waste and very deep pockets!"

"Went for a drinks masterclass, the server Luke, was great. Made it really enjoyable. Nice little experience to do, I think he should get paid more as he was lovely. But we went to go get food as part of the experience afterwards was when the problem started. We weren 't on their system but were down on their paperwork for the 3-course meal; general staff was nice enough, and said their manager Claire would be out to sort this. We were waiting a while, but we didn 't see her come out to help us. The music was deafeningly loud (we were sat right next to a speaker), we asked someone if they could turn it down, and they said 'they 'd have to ask the manager, but they 'd probably say no. ' Didn 't have any change in sound, we had to leave as it was deafening. Stood outside for a bit longer in case Claire would come out but no. The general staff seems really nice, and they work within their means, but it seems like there is a serious managerial issue here. You can 't control the sound levels of where your staff are working in, theyre the ones who have to deal with it and so are the clients. No one wants to eat a 3 course meal with blaring music. We did email to complain as we were out of pocket for a 3 course meal (which was paid for on an experience voucher), and they already claimed that. We 've had to escalate to the voucher provider as we 've had no response. To summarize, drinks are good, and the floor and bartending staff are nice, but if you have a problem where the manager needs to intervene, good luck. Also, if you 're sensitive to sound, neurodivergent, etc., avoid it, as the absent manager seems to have the tight control of sound."
