"We wanted to hold a baby naming event for our grandchild and thought that NaughTea But Nice would provide a good location for it. After initial discussions with Sam, the owner, we agreed a time and date, a price per person (up to 16, the capacity of the tea room), some additional food and a celebratory cake. The arragement would be that Sam would shut the cafe a couple of hours before our event so that she could prepare, and in that slot we could decorate the tea room with balloons and make any other preparations we wished to. A few days before the event, I tested positive for COVID and had to postpone. Same was completely understanding about this, luckily it was far enough away for her not to have bought any food, and we arranged another date without any fuss. When the actual day for the event arrived, Sam preapred a lovely tea for each person consisting of a range of sandwiches, scones, additional quiche, along with tea and coffee. We had the tea, then did our 'ceremony ' which took about 20 minutes, and then Sam produced the cake which we all shared even though we had eaten a huge amount of Sam 's lovely tea. It couldn;t have been better, and we will all remember it (except the baby)!. I cannot recommend NaughTea But Nice for a private event Sam was very easy going and efficient, the food was delicious, it was very reasonably priced and we shall return as regular customers!"

"We have been to the Italian before and although the food was lovely the service was bad but thought it was a one off. We went there again but this time it was for a table of 7 as we had a family meal out. We got there and find out they are only going starters and pizzas. So it did restrict us for choice. The bruschetta was nice but the pizza could have done with more flavour. On trip advisor someone raves about the wood fired rosemary potatoes. But when we asked the waitress replied.. I don’t know as the chef would need to peel the potatoes. The service was a bit ditsy and lacked confidence. It seems like they stretch to a larger menu when they feel like it based on who they know as others had more selection. Where they did mess up was when the bill came. We were previously told by other people to always check the bill as they do add drinks on try and get away with it. On this occasion it happened. £17 more on our bill for several drinks which we didn’t have. When questioned they took it away and came back with a quick sorry and left us with bank transfer details as they do not accept card, it’s just transfer or cash. That’s the last time we will be going, too many things went wrong and when you are taking out family it’s rather embarrassing to go to such a incompetent place. Also, the restaurant has cobwebs everywhere, all in the plants and by our table. A family member went into the pizza area where they are cooked with bare feet after the beach. Just not nice. Will not be returning."

"Good. . . . . Everything may seem a bit petty, but when you pay the prices here, you would expect to be treated with courtesy and not discussed!I made my request and I appreciate that I was busy and noisy. My food order came incomplete. My order in the box started with fries with cheese, baguette cheese and drinks for me and 3 children. I wasn't too impressed by the cheese baguette. If you like chunks of thick cheese this is your place! Also, the girl who served never mentioned that she had only sown and never thought of checking any allergies! So the guy who made the hot drinks was very kind and polite, and the girl who served the baguette was lovely. The kids started asking where the fries were. So I asked the girl and she was very polite and I went to check. The girl who served me wine and. I must say not very complacent. I didn't apologize, I asked him how much he got me, he just said he hadn't withdrawn and he could get me and he had to pay in the box. It was rough, rude. . . . bad customer service I asked to be removed, as we would be late to meet friends, again, no apology. She offered the manager and I said no, we'll just go. When we were leaving, after everyone had a confab behind the drinks, she approached me. Then I started saying. . . ``I appreciate it being busy and noisy, but I said my full order that was lost part of and I was not impressed by the way he treated it quite rudely. To the manager's answer with attitude like the waitress, no, you didn't! Excuse me, I know what I ordered, I was thinking, so I politely said I had asked, but she shouldn't have listened to me. No, you didn't, no, you didn't, you argued with me. All I needed was. 'I'm sorry for the confusion, I'm sure he didn't want to, as you say he's busy, noisy, easy to do. No apology for the waitress attitude either. We will remove the cheese price from your fries pear for the size of the portions! Nothing. I said I worked in retail and their customer service is shocking. I won't recommend it. However, I must say that the 2-service staff I had experience was charming. It is surprising that if she is the manager, she has terrible customer service skills, even if it is a busy time of the year."

"We often come here for Sunday carvery which is very good so thought we would try an evening meal for my Mum's birthday. I am afraid the overall service let down the whole experience. When we arrived, instead of being taken to our table by the waitress, she just pointed and said you are at that table over there. After being to a busy bar area to get our drinks we found out that the 2 waitress standing around did not take orders so we had to go back to the busy bar again and wait to give our food orders. When the food came it was very good, especially my seafood platter. Everyone thought the food was good except for my Mum who had gone for one of the specials. It was so poor especially for being a special. She had one tiny piece of fish with no sauce, 4-5 very small new potato's, a few carrots and a few bits of broccoli. All the veg was hard and there was not enough to satisfy even a person with the smallest appetite. We told the waitress about the hard veg but she just said oh right and there was no apology. When we spoke to the chap at the bar and said why don't the waitress take the orders he said he liked people to come to the bar so the staff could meet them. We all felt this was a lame reason and probably did not trust the teenage waitresses to take the orders. It is a real shame as the place is lovely and the food generally is pretty good but is missing a professional touch. We said we would not return for an evening meal but just stick to the Sunday Carvery."
