"We are frequent visitors to the Aberglais. I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal, or a bad experience here. All the staff make effort to ensure you are happy and you have all you need. The food is so good and really reasonably priced. I recently booked the restaurant for 28+ people for my partners 30th birthday in April and everything was so easy, from booking, giving the pre order and everything on the night went smoothly. I even took some decorations to the venue the night before the meal and the staff kept them safe for me. Nothing was too much trouble and they were happy to help. Would always recommend the Aberglais for a welcoming atmosphere, smiley staff and excellent food."

Lovely food! Never had a bad meal here. Can't fault the service and the prices are also reasonable. Can't complain about anything. Definitely recommend.

Good choice on menu. Food came quickly and tasted great. Really good value for money. Sat outside so had to order at the bar, otherwise it’s table service. accepts dogs

Very friendly staff beautiful building great views fantastic food homemade reasonably priced. Nothing to dislike. Definitely would recommend and have returned a few times it is so good.

The food here was so delicious, I had the steak and ale pie which was the nicest I’ve ever tasted the beef was so tender and the shortcrust pastry was perfect. The rest of my group really enjoyed their meals too. If you’re ever in Merthyr try this place you won’t be disappointed. P.s the staff are very friendly too :

My wife and I were spending a few days in Brecon and selected the Aberglais Inn to eat in. What a good choice. After our first evening we booked again for the next two evenings. The food was very good, the service from Fionn and Fionn was excellent. Both charming welsh girls. I wish we lived nearer so we visit more often. Highly recommended.

Popped in on way from Brecon. Didn’t book and was lucky to get a table on a Tuesday night! Must be good. Caroline had the home made steak pie and I opted for my usual Sirloin steak with a lovely home made garlic sauce. Lemon cheesecake and mixed berry crumble to follow. Very busy I recommend booking to guarantee a table. Will return to try a Sunday roast soon

Very disappointed with my recent visit. Long wait for food to arrive which is ok if it’s worth it. Sadly it was not. My steak was ordered med/rare but arrived very rare. I gave it a try but it was inedible very poor quality meat chewy, bland and not pleasant at all. Chips and sauce also poor. I brought this to the staffs attention but nothing was done or said. Lessons learned I will not return.
