"There are 3 places for lunch in Riquewihr where you can sit outside. All of them also serve dinner. For ambiance, I would choose the place 100 feet up the street, on a nice day, if you are going to eat outside. The menus and the quality are the same. On my one visit I found the service to be the same as well. If you are a beer lover, Relais de Riquewihr is your choice. They are a lonely brewery in a big wine region. And the beer is some of the best you can find. I didn't really see much of the inside but it looked nicer than the other places that have outdoor dining as a choice. Here in the outdoor area, you have plastic place mats, a metal canopy and frail cafe furniture. So on a cold day, I would choose this place for a good lunch inside. Many Germans come here because the menu is more traditional German Alsatian food than others. It’s a beer garden in a square. Very family friendly with many tables of three generations. I think this is a good representative of the regional cuisine. It is very busy between noon and 2 PM when it is difficult to get a table outside. It can take a short time for the waiters to get to you but they do come around. And the beer was some of the best I have ever had. We both had Quiche Alsace which is different than Quiche Lorraine; it is baked with sauerkraut in it. The texture was very creamy since it had the eminently meltable munster cheese. There are tables inside as well.• Parking is along the Rue du Steckgraben that goes along the east wall of the city.• Accessible to all• No English Menu• Bathrooms are OK• Paper napkins• Table size is generous• Table spacing is OK • Noise level is fine outside• Lighting is natural• Cleanliness is great• Service can be a little slow for Americans• Family Tolerant"

We enjoyed lovely tarts, crepes and ice creams there, as well as good Italian coffee in a comfortable outdoor setting.

it's a restaurant, so I think I'll check out the food. it wasn't good. we both left our tellers with our food in there. do not recommend! we paid 40€ and each got a brezel.

As you would expect given its position this brasserie offers a good range of regional fair, during the afternoon it is mainly an ice cream parlour come cocktail bar(both alcoholic and non alcoholic) although being a patisserie food will be served if they are open! We would certainly go again if in the area, service is cheerful and helpful to the linguistically challenged, prices are reasonable, some of the cocktail less so.

Had a tasty meal hear and a nice bottle of local wine. The food choice and quality we found to be good and the potions quite generious, The service was pleasant but not outstanding our waitress spoke both French and German, Food was fresh and hot and very pleasant. Atmosphere was hard to judge as there were only a couple of tables in the outside but under cover eating area was a pleasant and well lit place to sit. Pricing seemed a bit too high to be honest for what we had, Still worth a visit but its not the best on value.

this place when the resturant I wanted was closed on Tuesday? I went and booked a table on the afternoon without any problems. the service was excellent and the waiting staff was very tolerant for my limited French. with garlic butter. 10/10 of the ham and the carrots were excellent and very rich with a cuddly creamy sauce and the carving and sour wort were wonderful. washed with a sharp pinot gris. were also excellent. we didn't feel hurried or forgotten. perfectly matched pauses between the curses. we sat outside and could hear the birds singing and whining away. they would certainly visit here again.

We had cordon bleu au veau (veal with ham and cheese) with french fries and vegetables. The meat came plastered with cheese and lukewarm. The french fries were almost cold without salt. The vegetables were overcooked and tasted of nothing. We had to give back the french fries because they were unedible. After removing the cheese from the meat (should only be inside) and adding copious amounts of mustard we were able to eat it. I didn't touch the vegetables. We didn't dare order dessert but even the coffe was distasteful. Don't go there to eat. The atmosphere and location are nice and the wine was good (although rather pricey). In the end the waiter tried to screw us with the change, he wante...

For our Whit weekend we booked online a package of two hotel nights, two dinners, one lunch (three different restaurants) and one wine-tasting. The whole thing was advertised and very well organised by Alsace Tourism.Au Relais de Riquewihr was our assigned restaurant for lunch on day two. The set menu for our package deal was Baeckeoffe followed by baked apple with ice-cream. Like our set dinner the previous evening, this was traditional, heavy, peasant cooking. Good hearty eating, but we had had our fill the night before, had just staggered out of a wine-tasting and were looking forward to a five-course dinner in a Michelin-starred hotel later that day. So we asked at the restaurant if we c...
