"Un menu à 17 euros plat+entrée dans le beau village de Gordes c'est rare... des produits frais, menu ou carte. Le restaurant est petit mais très accueillant et surtout sera agréable en été car terrasse à l'ombre, un petit décor très sympathique. Un gros coup de coeur pour les desserts. Nous avons goûté dans le café gourmand : la crème brulée au chocolat, la salade de fruits frais excellente et... (je ne me souviens plus) mais un délice. Les nouveaux propriétaires ont ouverts depuis deux semaines. Le vin blanc au pichet est bon, ce qui est plutôt rare pour le vin 1er prix. Nous y retournerons, c'est sûr, rapport qualité/prix trés intéressant. A encourager"

"I don't know the restaurant but the sandwich. It is excellent for a ratio quality rare price on a tourist place. The envelopes with a nice slice of salmon, the sandwich with a real chicken white, in short, to consume without moderation!"

"Only three entries offered. One was tripe, the second was a fish dish, and the third was a pork casserole that was only available for two. So, unless you enjoy cow stomach a couple has to settle on the double fish entree or the pork for two. We opted for the latter. Mediocre at best. The carrots and parsnips were not washed thoroughly so one got gritty sand in every chew. The entire dish was over salted and the pork cheeks were tasteless. On top of that, when we gave our waitress our credit card, she ran it and declared that the card was no good . It turned out that their Internet connection was down--no apology for announcing to the room that our card was bad--and we were told to wait. Twenty minutes later we paid in cash and left. Simply a bad experience and a waste of 60 Euros."

"For once making a synthesis is easy, it holds in a word: perfection. The staff is discreet, attentive and available at any time. A special mention to the mixologist who made us discover the cocktail of his invention with a lot of passion. The two gastro and bistro restaurants present two very different universes but we share a refined and inventive cuisine that has delighted our taste buds. The sommelier has offered us some surprising met wines but o how much so. The rooms are spacious and still with taste, the natural setting is splendid. Everything is here reunited to spend a few days of relaxation or refinement and elegance will be at the rendezvous."

"David's chef Emmanuel Champion left in the New Year and the restaurant was closed for redecoration. This is the first time we have been there since then and I am very sorry to say that, although the patron and one waiter are the same everything else has changed.Gone is the stylish but comfortable decor, the fresh table linen and in their place are wood-effect topped tables, heavy and rather low chairs but worst of all to traditionalist me, fake leather table mats.The two set price menus have the same offering of two choices for each of three courses but with a couple of exceptions these were neither seasonal nor especially local. The wine list is pretty much as it was.This new chef has a great deal to learn. His cooking is somewhat lacking in finesse.The first course of foie gras was not melt in mouth and was strangely topped with a chocolate flavoured jelly which I thought didn't work. The toasted brioche served with it was welcome as was the very small serving of chutney.The main dish was just clumsy. It sounded hopeful: John Dory with a boullabaisse sauce. The sauce was a lacking-in-flavour foam and the overcooked fish was sitting on two huge pieces of potato, also overcooked and a lump of carrot. I couldn't finish mine.Both desserts contained chocolate and I chose the bananas flambeed in rum on a biscuit. The bananas were cold cut into identical cylinders with a mousse in the middle, but the rum had escaped. I asked for the accompanying chocolate ice cream not to be served.I feel really sorry having to write this review because we have known and loved David since the early 1980s through the then third generation owner and chef, the present owner and his first chef to last night.I know, things, especially in food have to move on but............"
