I walked in here and had camps. don't eat that, but the type at the door was ok (let me in) and bar staff are nice. ok, if you like metal, but it's really for people who are totally in this kind of music. Other...Patrons very friendly. worth a visit.

we enjoyed our mid-sized rare steaks at black dog, nicely cooked, with a choice of two sides and one soße. the decoration is gothic and the music heavy metal. our waitress was very friendly and helpful, we managed to conversate very well with her...English and our limited franzosen. not the ambiente that suits everyone, but we are products of the 1960s and we loved it.

First, the place was loud and I mean LOUD loudest PA sound I've ever heard in a bar, and I go to a lot of loud US music venues with moaning screamo sounds. But, it's a proper divey bar, which aren't on every...corner in gay Paree. I had the Argentinian sausage, which came on a nice baguette. Not the best choice, but the menu looks good if limited by the late Sunday hour. Nice bartender tolerated this French illiterate American idiot. Recommend highly. Speisekarte ansehen

my wife and I stopped here on the basis of the reviews. looks like a total dive, but we sat in the upper sitting area that wasn't too loud. the music is terrible (we refer to it as “Screamo” music, lol) but if they forget that the beer, eating and service was excellent. I had the ribeye steak and the woman had empanadas. It's really good. had the tiramisu and cream brûlée and both were perhaps the best I ever had. we really recommend this place. would go again.

Enjoyed a few happy hour beers here 3e per 500ml German lager. Heavy metal music playing but not too loud so even if your not into it it's not a problem. Restaurant down the back opened at 8pm and we really enjoyed our meal here....We had empanadas for starters and both the chicken and spicy beef were lovely. Had steaks for mains and were really tasty and perfectly cooked. Server in restraint was a very friendly chatty person who everybody around us seemed happy with. Barman was friendly as well. Owner seemed a bit gruff but with good steaks for 19e and beers for 3e who cares. Would be my first stop to eat if back in Paris again.

On the ground floor, there's a bar with a restaurant at the back. The lights are bright, the music is adequately loud, the staff is friendly, the food is superb and the prices very reasonable (great for Paris-standards, actually). On the basement, there's the club,...where the lights are dim and the music much louder. Both floors are beautifully decorated and the people visiting are of all ages and types (metalheads, families with kids, couples, guys in suits and gals in goth outfits). Talk about an ideal (metal) night out in Paris! Important note: the staff speaks English and there are English catalogs available. I used to be a metal head so I came often to the black dog bar, meeting friends, enjoying some cool metal music, good beers and warm atmosphere. But I didn’t know it was also a very good restaurant ! Don’t worry you won’t have...to scream to order your dish, the restaurant is isolated from the rest of the bar, you will only recognize being in a metal place because of the names of the dishes and some decorative objects. Nonetheless, it’s probably the best place in Paris for the meat ! You can eat untill 600g of meat if you feel like ! A high quality product, very well prepared, with home made fries or vegetables. My friends and I visited this pub after attending a concert at L 'Olympia late on a Tuesday night. We wanted to have a couple of drinks before going back to our hotels, and as we are fans of rock and heavy metal, we thought we...would give this place a try. It reminded us of some of the slightly dingy metal bars that we have known in London over the years, which is fine. You know where you stand with a place like this. No frills, not exactly 'service with a smile ' (although you probably get more of a welcome if you are a local), but you 're not necessarily there for that.
