Amabilidad extrema, nos acogieron fuera de horario con un bocadillo de pan, hecho por ellos, tomate y jamón serrano, bebida y café... Lugar impresionante, un trozo de muros de la ciudad, más una torre de vigìa, del siglo XIII, incorporado en la casa, y mesas de verano en la calle que da vistas increíbles sobre montes y valles a 180°. A la esquina del centro histórico. Agradecidísimos por la acogida y poder conocer lugar y cultura... Volveremos!

As everyone else has said eating on the terrace is a must. Stupendous views towards the mountains that Picasso loved so much with the famous convent in the distance. Service was friendly and efficient. The food unpretentious but good. The house wine was a bit ropey so we asked the owner to select us something a bit better and wow it was just stunning. Fantastic views with tables outside. Unfortunately, although there were signs saying smoking was forbidden, two men at the next table smoked continuously throughout our meal and the proprietors did not enforce non smoking rules. The meat used in the meal was of poor quality and one of our party had a fly in his meal and sent it back, but there was no apology, just a replaced meal. For being in a wine region, the wine that was provided was again of poor quality. Would not recommend this restaurant. Go for a coffee enjoy the views and eat elsewhere.

Beautiful location in Orta, overlooking hectares of rolling farmland and an impressive pyramid of a mountain in the near distance. Menu del dia at 16 euros although I noted later the receipt says 33.60. Menu choices adequate but not exciting, food good, hot, well presented. Serving staff need re training. Father terse and too quick, on the way to rushing us. Daughter as waitress (15 16 yrs? Did NOT want to be there. Grumpy, surly, a real downer on the experience. Will not go there again as there plenty of other places to explore. Usual case of Mum being a decent cook but the rest of the family not giving a hoot. Sad.

Our complaint concerns the treatment we have received from the restaurant staff. In response to the request for clarification of the menu, in Catalan, we have been told that, loved is loved and that we hurry to ask because if a table of thirteen people did not attend, we had a reservation. The owner has told us that we had the obligation to know Catalan since we had decided to come to Catalonia. The funniest thing is that the owner, we believe, is a Spanish-speaking Argentine.
