Cashleys - Speisekarte

We had the bassa fish bun and the burger bun. Both were nicely cooked and seasoned and garnished. A great addition to the Forfar food scene. The service was pleasant too.

I received a text in the morning of our reservation stating that the restaurant would be closed tonight. It was difficult to find an alternative at this time of year with short notice. I was very disappointed.

The high tea menu at this restaurant is simple, but the food is delicious and beautifully presented. The service is excellent – friendly and accommodating, especially towards our children. I would definitely recommend this place. Speisekarte ansehen

Had the pleasure of a mid week takeaway meal from this excellent modern restaurant. The Angus Dukkah Burger was superb and the Beetroot, Chickpea and Coriander Burger also hit the mark. Accompanied by their excellent fries not cooked once, not even twice but thrice. Highly recommended.

Visited Forfar to meet friends, booked online as Reveiws seemed ok for Cashleys! What a Big Mistake! waitress service was pleasant, but thats where it ends! Starters were passable, but Main Courses were a disaster! Sorry Do Not Eat at Cashleys(now 1871, Forfar Golf Clubhouse) I was a Junior Member of Club in late 1980's, think Clubhouse is same decor! If your hungry go somewhere else!

My wife and I had a very enjoyable brunch and were just finishing with a few coffees when we noticed that the male chef and female server were basically 'getting it on ' in the open kitchen. The other server appeared to be ignoring their antics and there were other customers dining. Yet another visit with poor service and lack of produce. No skimmed or semi skimmed milk on Sunday morning for my wife's skinny latte so she opted for tea but no teabags. She went and bought her own so she could have a drink with family. Yet another 40 minutes and no hot water. My niece's latte was just hot milk, no coffee. While this was happening another party gave up waiting and left. We have given up using this as our Sunday venue for coffee/breakfast. Another reason for this is opening times vary and can't always get inside.

After reading a few of the previous reviews, we were a bit skeptical, but the unique and enticing menu convinced us to try this restaurant for breakfast. There was a slight delay as the chef had to go out for supplies, but we were offered coffee and didn't have to wait too long. I ordered the poached eggs on onions with flatbread (I can't remember the name) and it was delicious. My husband enjoyed the shakshuka that he ordered. Overall, we had a disappointing family meal at the local restaurant. We booked for a table of 12 for my mum's birthday. We were the only table when we arrived. Another table of 2 arrived during our main course. There was a friendly informal server when we arrived though I got the impression he was not a formal waiter as he did not know much about the menu. He also disappeared after a short time. After this time, we were served by one of the kitchen staff. Obviously, this led to inadequate and slow service. The meals were served very slowly.
