I had my brother around for the last May bank holiday weekend and we were eating meat, meat and more meat, as he was not allowed wheat for a few weeks.

very despised! what a terrible service, 9/12 of our commands were totally wrong. we waited for an hour for 3 meals and they were never complete. the best restaurant where we have ever eaten. they will not come back or visit. Speisekarte ansehen

I'm not sure what happened, but the food we ordered for delivery today was one of the worst we've ever had. Normally, this restaurant is pretty good, but today we had to throw away £24 worth of food. This is completely unacceptable.

Completely Awful. Shocking service, no interest in their customers and food is also not good. Been there twice, ribs were sent back twice in one sitting for being cold, and they were put in the microwave. Next time i paid £20 for a steak, it was worse than most supermarket steaks i cook myself. When they were told they didnt apologise or even seem to care. Awful place, and way overpriced!!!

We went to cattle grid Balham last week and we had such a good time! The service is just right- friendly, not uptight and easy to get along with. The food- oh my the ribs! Best ribs ever! This all makes for a great atmosphere. The only issue was it got a bit cold after we'd eaten, but the staff said the heater was broken so if that's fixed- perfect! Nice for couples and groups. I had a lovely birthday dinner at this restaurant. My friend treated me to a steak dinner after Cattle Grid. We have been to many places and tried steaks before, but this meal was truly amazing. The service was attentive but not intrusive, allowing us to enjoy our meal in peace. The steak was the highlight of the night and one of the best (if not the best) we've ever had. Thank you for making my birthday evening so special!

I visited this restaurant for lunch with a friend after hearing rave reviews from others. The cozy atmosphere of the small place added to the charm. We enjoyed sitting by the open windows, feeling the summer breeze. We started with the buffalo wings, which had a delicious sauce and were perfect for sharing. We then shared a full rack of piri piri ribs. At first, I was skeptical as the ribs had a strong BBQ flavor, which I usually don't enjoy. However, the taste grew on me and we ended up enjoying our meal without needing to request a different dish. Overall, we had a pleasant experience at the restaurant.

What can I say? Being a local in Balham for 14 years now, I've seen restaurants come and go. Although The Cattle Grid started off ok and was very reasonably priced, I was totally shock to Se the price of the Ribs go up from £14.95 one month to £15.95 this month. These started off at £11.95 18 months ago. Being in the trade and knowing how much there are at cost, it discusts me on how much TCG are charging. And on top of that, they're only edible from Thursday-Saturday. Maybe TCG should seriously think about this issue and rectify it!
