"we had some French friends who wanted to pick us up at the air bnb to get us to dinner. the place where they wanted to take us was closed, so we landed here. the atmosphere was like a cave, so the name, I suppose. our friends wanted a certain wein and our waiter brought out a few to try. he did not know much about the weeping our friends disregarded, as they suspected that the restaurant was known for their expertise on weeping. after all, they chose a very good one. we had ordered the filet de Saint-Pierre sauce and l 'anth, which was a kind of white fish and it was delicious and the wee went perfectly with it. the rest room is like a port-a-pot with a curtain around it in the restaurant, so that was a little strange, but then after a few weeks in france we realized that toilet room in caffes and the like is a minimum. all in all it was a very good meal and we had a nice time with our friends."

Nice tapas followed by awful marinated meat that could not be eaten by two of our party. Staff were not interested and just removed the plates. Better restaurants elsewhere.

Four visits during a break in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon. Twice as a singleton and twice with family. Owner Damian and friendly staff are incredible hosts; generous and excited to share their local (and fantastic) wines. Great tapas. Go, you’ll like it. Speisekarte ansehen

Lacking atmosphere, trying to be too rustic. The food was OK(ish) although the steak was very fatty - yes, I know a ribeye has some fat, just not that much!! Both meals were of similar standard and we didn't bother with dessert. Maybe we were just early visitors in the season and they weren't yet organised.

We really loved eating and drinking here. The starters are fantastic (we had squid and mackerel) and the staff recommended excellent local wines. The mains were also delicious with a bit of a twist from traditional French cuisine - spicy dips and rice with steak (huge portions, great quality) and sea bass. Finished off with orange flower creme brulee and a cheese board. Delicious.

"I'm a regular here, and I'm not the only one lol! This place is always packed, it's both a locals haunt and a place where well-advised tourists end up. I meet my friends here, I meet my colleagues here, I meet half the town here...And it draws out the locals every evening with good reasons! So, first off: Convenience. Just on the bank of the river, this place has it's own parking.Next, atmosphere: Clean shabby chic orientated decor, open central kitchen, usually pretty crowded, Italian chef.... This place has got the atmosphere where it should be for modern tasty Italian cuisine.Service: populated by hipster and punkette style waiters and waitresses, they might not be warm nor welcoming, but they polite and competent. The service is prompt and the wine suggestions correct.Food: my FAVOURITE part! I love Italian, and I just appreciate a place that does it right so much! Simple, clean, modern and tasty!Their pizzas are beyond a doubt the best in the region, special mention for the Bianca and the Cosi. Their pasta is mouth watering. But I always find the best on their menu to be their dish of the day (for example duck filet with apricots, tuna steak with Italian sauce, roast filet mignon...) and their veal schnitzel. In fact I am a regular to this place almost solely because of their veal schnitzel. Just gorgeous!Oh and their desserts.... Are just delicious, special mention for the raspberry-lemon-white chocolate parfait!Once again, this is not a budget eat-all-you-can low end pizzeria. The prices are midrange. But the cuisine is authentic and impeccable, the setting very pleasant, and it is definitely a place you will come back to after trying it once."
