"If you want cool, if you want funky, if you want imaginative: Chez Peio in Toulouse is the place to go.On the Avenue Honoré Serres between the Canal du Midi and Boulevard d’Arcole and Boulevard Lascrosses, in a busy section of Toulouse, it’s a small but exceptional restaurant with perhaps 30 seats inside and another 20 on the outside. Decor is rustic with three of the tables made of polished tree trunks. Our server said they look great, but are impractical. Don’t worry about the tables - Eat the food! Take your friends. Ask some strangers who look like they enjoy food to come with you. Order every tapas on the menu. Go back the next day and order the beef. Then go back the day after and have dessert. We ordered Patatas Bravas with chorizo and Manchego, Gazpacho made with melon and a chiffonade of Serrano ham and croutons, black radishes sliced thin and served with shrimp and ricotta and the mozzarella and tomato plate. We had the Bandol rosé from Castellet for E29 which we’ve paid more for in Castellet. The prices are reasonable, the service is friendly, the wine list is great with some real bargains and you can watch the chefs make your food."

Yesterday we had a fantastic dinner in this small but tasty restaurant. The waitress was warm and competent, the chef amazing. There was an Italian menu written by hand very helpful and useful

It's been rated as one of the best places in Toulouse. I went, I saw, I agreed. It doesn't look much at first bu looks are deceptive, even if, like me, you don't eat meat. Two scrumptious taps did it all. Amazing.

Small place very cozy and charming. The service was perfect, The waitress is very frendeu and helpful. We ordered 2 rizottos and as a start meal a mix of Jamon para negra, tomatoes compotte and garlic. The wines options are good and everything for a fair price. We forcely recomend Chez Peio

Came for dinner. The food was very good indeed. The menu was in French - no translation available. The welcome which we received was friendly and the service was very good and we were allowed to practice our French. We perched on high stools at a rather shaky wooden table which overall was rather uncomfortable but the food was worth it. We order a selection of tapas and a salad and watched the meals being prepared in an open small kitchen just a few feet away. Order a bottle of wine rather than by the glass as the glass of wine is on the small side. Great food! Speisekarte ansehen

We were originally going to go to another restaurant, but decided that we wanted something other than traditional Sourhwestern cuisine. This is a tapas restaurant with a southwestern flare, which seemed like a fun thing to do, since there were 5 of us.We had a little trouble locating the restaurant, but we were unfamiliar with the neighbourhood and the restaurant is small and unassuming. We ordered 5 tapas and 2 risotto dishes, and that was plenty for all of us to share. We really liked the egg dish...but I cannot remember the exact name of the dish.Everything was very tasty.

We discovered this place by accident as we walked through Toulouse. Its a little way out of the centre but well worth the walk. The place was nearly full but the waitress found us a table for two out on the pavement. The restaurant is tiny with only two tables outside and perhaps a dozen inside. The open kitchen is not much bigger than a domestic kitchen. How the chef produces such great food in such a tiny space is amazing. The meal we had was fantastic. We ordered three tapas which was more than enough. We had small octopus cooked with a crispy batter and aoili, clams cooked in a fantastic broth and an excellent truffle risotto. The meal including a bottle of rose came to 49 euros. Excelle...

"It was very very good! For drinks we had a homemade lemonade and a Hibiscus/mint iced tea (it really reminds us of bissap) which were very good. The beef mandu (dumplings) were incredible!!!! We loved it. The fried chicken was very good and plentiful for the price and accompanied by fresh radish pickles. The shredded beef bao was delicious clearly. The tteokbokki were really excellent, delicious and precisely spicy. The crispy salmon was not bad but too salty for my taste to titillate. The hotteok for dessert was very good. I would have liked the black sesame ice cream too but we didn't have any more room...that will be for next time. The presentation of the dishes is careful. The score is 50th for 2 knowing that we ate a lot. The staff are lovely and very helpful. There was a bit of a wait but it didn't bother us. Remember to book if possible because it gets crowded. Especially if you are a group. Afterwards we came without a reservation and were still able to eat. I recommend. For me the best Korean in Toulouse that I have tried for the moment (even if perhaps not pure tradition) with the P'tit Louis in St Cyp but which is only open at lunchtime. For the bibimbap I can't say we haven't tried it yet.
