"We have eaten here before and always enjoyed it. However we thought that last night was somewhat disappointing given the high standard we expected from our previous experiences. My husbands starter, a pork Bon Bon, lacked in-depth taste but was acceptable. We were quite surprised and disappointed that by 7pm on Saturday evening the monkfish special main was no longer available, which we would have both ordered. That said the crusted cod dish was excellent in my opinion and my husbands lamb dish was very good. I ordered the dessert special , Seville orange cheesecake. It was far too sweet and the accompanying berries were tart, I left it. We tried to order amaretto from the drinks menu but there wasn’t any. The young staff worked hard but possibly lacked experience ."

Really lovely place, was full on a Thursday evening! Some of the dishes are quite expensive so be prepared but the food is very good quality.

We have been a few times now but last night the restaurant felt cold and the service took ages to come. The food was excellent which was good. I have had better experiences there to be honest .

Mushroom soup amazing. My friends first visit and she loved it. She had black pudding and carbonara on the specials menu My spinach and ricotta pasta was slightly bland and sticky so didn't eat much. But its a personal taste thing, for me needed more cheese. The staff were great, really attentive. The room was really cold though, it was quite early when we ate so probably got more comfortable later
