"Spent a very rainy day in Fort William. Used the Happy Cow app to search for a vegan friendly place for lunch made our way to The Wildcat. Left our name no as they were full then got a call about 20 mins later to say they had a table for us. We both opted for the Moroccan pasty special which was delicious comfort food. I had turmeric latte and my partner had coffee which he said was the nicest he’s ever had in a café . After another round of hot drinks, we were too full for anything else but ordered a couple of cakes to take away. Really nice wee cafe we’ll definitely return when we’re in Fort William again."

"This restaurant is dog-friendly and offers great rooms and delicious food. The French toast at breakfast is truly outstanding, and I even noted that they thoughtfully inquire about the source of their maple syrup. Dinner was also excellent. Every time we try dining elsewhere, we end up regretting it. The food and service at the Lime Tree are so exceptional that we eventually gave up on a nearby restaurant and returned just for dessert."

"Ok, britische und schottische Küche sind nicht dafür bekannt, dass sie besonders gesund sind, aber essen war auch noch recht schnell und lieblos zubereitet. Es gab einen veganen Burger oder Pommes oder zwei vegetarische Kleinigkeiten, die vegan gemacht werden konnten oder eben den „Salat“ mit veganem Filet, den ich hatte. Der Salat bestand aus einer Handvoll grüner Blätter, vielen Zwiebel und drei cherrytomaten. Dazu dann ein Haufen von dem fertig panierten Filet und ein Dressing, was mehr eine zuckrige dickflüssige Chilisauce war. Geschmacklich 3, Menge 5 wer soll denn von so einem Minisalat satt werden, obwohl er als Main Dish angepriesen ist? Schade, dafür dann mit knapp 11£ auch viel zu teuer"

"OH MY WORD!!!!! I think this is probably the best fish restaurant we have EVER been to. We had seen great reviews before our trip to Fort William so booked well in advance thankfully because there would have been no chance of us getting in without a booking and I can see why. I had the Cullen Skink to start and I seriously could have bathed in it!! My husband chose the cod scotch egg which was delicious. However the 1st prize most definitely go to my main course the pan fried Hake with crushed new potatoes, asparagus and crab meat (even typing this is making me hungry! My husband chose fish and chips, we had a bit of banter with the waitress about whether they were gonna beat our Yorkshire fish chips!! They did!! We didn't have dessert as were too stuffed but they looked lovely. Seriously, if you love fish, you HAVE to book a table here enjoy Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"While the food was tasty and steak was cooked to perfection, the horrible service and very long delays in getting served results in a rare 2 star review. Having read gushing positive reviews about this place, my girlfriend and I.. Tourists from out of town decided to stop by. We called and booked a table for 2 at 630pm. We arrived at 620pm and we're promptly seated. The evening is looking great. Then things started to go downhill. It took us 15 mins to get our orders taken..with 2 tables who arrived after us being served first by the pony tailed sole waitresses there. I waved her down and politely informed her we were ready to order, but was told in a somewhat mocking demeanor that she would be right with me. It took her another 10mins to get back to us. The 2 items we wanted to order.. Ribs and and the risotto were not available. No one told us in advance. Big letdown. To add salt to the wound, the one low alcohol beer on the menu also wasn't available. Food took even longer to arrive. We waited 40 mins before both our burger and steak arrived. Though the taste was good and portions were generous, the accompanying sauce was way too little for a steak of that size. Although my cutlery was swapped out to include a serrated knife, my partner wasn't even given a steak knife. She relied on a bread knife to cut her burger. We asked for water and I made it clear we wanted hot water. We were served a water jug with cold water. End of the night, we can't help feeling very frustrated at the quality of service and long food wait times. We weren't the only ones. We noticed other tables too incurred at least 30 min wait times for food. Perhaps we are an Asian couple.. Was this the reason our table was skipped not once but twice in getting orders taken? One can't help but to draw conclusions. Given the chance, we won't be back again. There are many other establishments in the area worth exploring. With hopefully better table service. If you decide to come here, come very early and hopefully you're of the right skin color to receive proper table service that deserves your hard earned money.
