"I’ve been coming to this restaurant now for well over a decade and it’s still my one and only reason for visiting Halifax. The food is always top quality, portions are generous and really good value for money. But more than that is the experience Pajaree herself provides. Always warm and friendly, cares for her customers and never forgets you. Her partner Philip is lovely too and always great to have a catch up with. We had mixed starters, a main each, egg fired rice and a pork omelette all washed down with a lovely bottle of Shiraz and the whole lot cost less than £55. "Arrived on time to be sent to the bar for 20 minutes while they prepared a table. Not acceptable with a child. The food was okay but flavour pairings were a little poor. Lipstick on the glasses and left without drinks for the whole main course. The children’s menu was awful, clearly created through necessity and not by someone who cares what children eat. My daughter ordered fish and chips at £9 she couldn’t eat much of it, it was cheap frozen fish and fries….. worlds away from the fish and chips my Mum ordered from the adults menu. It was supposed to be a treat as my daughter is a real foodie but another visit to Shibden Mill will now be my go to threat for bad behaviour. The 10% service charge was already added to the bill which was thoroughly undeserved so paid grudgingly."

The food was top-notch, earning a solid five stars. Every dish I tried was delicious and well-prepared. The service was equally impressive, with attentive staff who made sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was inviting and pleasant, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed lunch. Plus, the free parking lot was a convenient bonus! Highly recommend this place for a great dining experience."

"Ordered as a surprise for my dad and step mum to give them a lockdown date night. They adored every course and said the flavours were incredible. The person who dropped them off was super friendly and really lovely and followed great social distancing measures. The bits that came with the meal to set the table with were a fantastic touch, and the Gimbals playlist was fabulous to go with it. A perfect date night and two tremendously pleased tummies! I can’t wait for our next Gimbals (and I will certainly be ordering more than the truffles for myself next time... which were beautiful! Thank you so much!!"

"Small restaurant, with great food. We were lucky to get a table on a Saturday evening, considering we hadn't booked. Looked tiny on arrival. However, there is an upstairs. Decor is basic, and it felt more like a popular takeaway had decided to create some seating. However, the service was friendly. Alcohol was available, and it appeared to be a popular spot. The food was the best part of the experience. We both had chicken Shish. The chicken had great flavour and was perfectly cooked. All the side salad was nice and fresh. The mushroom starter was nicely flavoured. No wonder it's highly rated. It gets the food right."
