Recently met up with a friend here for dinner since we were in Stranraer briefly (en route to a funeral). Been at the Bay House several times over the years. Always found the food and service excellent, and if you go at the right time, good value! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

I had Sunday lunch with friends, and I can only say that the food was exceptional, catering to everyone's preferences and allergies. The dishes were not only delicious but also generous in portion. The Seafood Taster Platter for Two is a must-try; it offered a fantastic variety of fresh seafood that was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Overall, the meal was well worth the price, and I highly recommend this spot for a satisfying lunch!

The service was a bit of a downside. We finished our meal later than expected, and although there were more tables being attended to, they simply placed the bill on our table. We waited for someone to come for us, but after ten minutes, we decided not to wait any longer and went to the reception to pay. It was odd that everyone at another table was able to pay before us. Overall, everything else was good, and the restaurant is only a 10-minute walk from the center.

To our surprise, the parking lot was quite full for a Wednesday evening. The clientele was mostly older, but it’s clear they appreciate quality and tend to return when they find it. The staff welcomed us warmly and seated us at a lovely, quiet table. The menu focuses on seafood, which is fitting given Henry’s seaside location. I ordered the filet steak while my companion chose the fish cake. The meal turned out to be just what we needed—simple yet excellent value. My compliments to everyone involved in running Henry’s!

We were very glad we were able to secure a table on our second attempt. The service was fantastic—attentive without being overbearing, and incredibly friendly. We did encounter an issue with one of our main dishes, but it was handled exceptionally well. The manager seemed genuinely concerned that it wasn't right. Aside from that, the food was very good and beautifully presented. We had a dish to share, and it was delicious. The starters and desserts were also excellent. We will definitely return if we're in the area again.

Despite their website indicating that dinner is served until 8 PM, I encountered a disappointing situation when I arrived at 19:45. I was informed that, in reality, they close at 19:30. This inconsistency is a significant inconvenience for patrons who rely on the website 's information. When I suggested to the employee that they should update their website to reflect accurate hours, their response was rather unhelpful: 'Our schedule is on the door. ' While this may be practical for locals, it 's hardly a useful solution for travelers or those not residing in the area who rely on online information.
