"We enjoyed the coffee (best order the large) and the lunch was tasty and inexpensive. Although we ate outside, the inside looks to have had a make over and seemed clean and tidy. There is now a farm shop with a limited selection of unusual local produce which was previously a craft shop and this connects to the rest of the café. Don't miss the Rhododendrons in Dundock wood, they are free to visit and there are thousands of mature plants in full flower in June. This area seems to have escaped much damage from storm Arwen although many trees came down in other parts of the estate so plenty of logs and tree roots around."

Limited but well-presented offering. Nice quality and good service in a clean and interesting setting.

Arrived late for lunch but the lovely staff soon had us sorted with what we wanted. Sometimes it's just the warmth of the welcome that makes all the difference

Weak cold coffee and miserable cakes. Other visitors have said the same and it hasn’t improved since their comments. In this day and age there is no excuse for bad standards

Cosy atmosphere, honest food, cheerful staff. What more could you ask for? Homestead were also happy to supply a takeaway service. Interesting items, including eco eggs, for sale.

We stopped here on our journey back from Scotland to york, and it was a great half way point. Parking cost £2.50, but that includes access to the gardens for walking. We had 2 cheese tart with salad and potatoes and a baked potato with...

Hard to find decent coffee in Coldstream but this place serves it. Home baking good, owner definitely trying to offer an all round experience, food, shop and location. It stayed open during COVID and served up coffees and scones through a hatch, this is to...

Walked the estate yesterday then stopped for a break at the Tearoom. Very warm welcome from the ladies working that day. Sat outside in the sunshine in the courtyard with our dogs and had delicious large home made cheese and fruit scones and coffee. Jam comes in its own jam jar. Milk in a mini churn. Nice touches. Would highly recommend. Plan to return in April when we are going to stay in Jedburgh for a week.

A delightful picturesque setting opposite a lake covered in bird life. Friendly and welcoming staff, lovely food and possibly the best fruit scones we have ever tasted. The light lunches were also much enjoyed by us all. Ample walking in the extensive surrounding park either to build up your appetite or walk off at least some of the goodies on offer. There is also a children’s play area, craft shops and museum displays together with tourist information for the surrounding area. Highly recommended.

My husband and I went in for a coffee. Asked for the price list. £2.50 for a tiny cup of coffee and £2.70 for slightly larger if one could say that. Two gulps and the cup would be empty. Outrageous pricing for nothing. Walked out. They even ask parking £2.50 to look around and 50p per person if on a bus. It's all about the money! They target tourists because they think tourists expect to through their money away when on holiday. We went to Newcastle Arms in Coldstream where a coffee , TWICE the size of the Hirsel cafe , costs £2 a cup.
