maybe 20 seats a limited menu, but excellent eating. kalb enough for four and hal8aber ehich was bluish. a server salina who has loaned us masks! always full book in advance. low prices good 3ines and good value

what an amazing fund today. fabulous French restaurant. wonderful food and first class service. the waitress was so efficient and friendly. if we were to stay longer, we would have returned for more. excellent value, divine food. well done. thanks for making our Monday.

we were recommended this restaurant by our local hosts and although we had a good meal, the menu was quite limited and the place is missing in the atmosphere. in the winter it would feel much more comfortable, as it is very small and traditionally decorated, but on a hot summer day it seemed quite dark. My wife and I enjoyed a delicious dinner at La Madeleine de Proust, including an excellent bottle of wine from the Loire Valley. The restaurant was within easy walking distance from our hotel, Hostellerie-Chateau-Chaumont, Like many restaurants in France, it is quite small, so it...is best to make reservations in advance.

First the restaurant looks, at first glance to be unimpressive, don’t be fooled. The food and service were quite good, it punches well above it’s weight. The menu is relatively simple and understated with a simple selection, but prepared, cooked and served impeccably. The narrowish...wine list provided sufficient selection and the prices were good. All in all, a very good meal enjoyed by all.

We decided to eat here one evening instead of our luxury hotel up the road and were glad we did . The lovely young lady that runs the place , does a great job and the food was outstanding, one of best meals we had...on our 2 week vacation. We got talking to some American guests back at our hotel and they to had eaten there to and said how impressed they were the place . It’s well worth the visit . Speisekarte ansehen

Visited this restaurant based on local reviews and were not disappointed. Warm welcome when we arrived, menu was provided in English which was useful although the waitress could easily have explained, service was polite and efficient and the food was the best yet sampled locally...and actually more reasonably priced. Starters of tomato and mozzarella were delicious and I tried the snail and spinach ravioli which was interesting as I’d never tried snails before, very tender and lovely garlic. Mains: I loved my beef fillet, another had duck breast that was also so tender and perfectly cooked and my wife had a fish fillet that was gorgeous. We have been visiting La Madeleine de Proust for lunch for a number of years now, on our annual pilgimage to see the Garden Festival at Chaumont. This year we were surprised to find new decor and new proprietaires... and a very new menu hence...another review. My wife started with perfectly cooked scallops in a sweet chestnut sauce. We both had dorade (sea bream) served on a bed of leeks. We were a little worried that it might be a bit bland, but it was absolutely delicious, the fish cooked to perfection and the finely shredded leeks were served in a lovely veloute sauce. We are regular visitors to the Loire Valley. We certainly have, over the years, eaten in many restaurants in the area. In our current few days stay at Onzaine, we had two dinners at Madeleine de Proust, on both occasions the restaurant was fully booked,...customers without booking were turned away. The restaurant changed chef/proprietor las year. The new young chef has made a complete change, from decor to cooking style. All for the better. You can have one course for €15 two for €23 or three for €30. Don’t miss out, have three courses. The two cocktails on offer, one alcoholic the other none are not worth the money.
