"After 3 weeks in France, we had one day to spend in Montpellier. We wandered around the city and came across this lovely terrasse, sandwiched among 2 other restaurants. We figured that the place was busy so that's usually a good sign. My wife and I both speak French (Québécois accents, but fluent) so the language was not the issue. However, in all my time in France (even Paris) I had never felt like I was treated any less because of being a tourist...until now. I am not going to complain about the length of time to be served, the place was busy, but when other tables around us, who arrive well after us, are being served long before us, it makes me question. Letting that slide, we finally get our entrées - no problem there, quite tasty. Then we both ordered the roast beef since the roast pork special was already sold out. Problems:1) the roast beef was cold2) the diced veggies were less than a teaspoon full on my plate and only 4 (we counted) tiny cubes on my wife's plate - why even bother2) the fries were undercooked 3) others around us had the same meals and their plates were beautifully presented. They had copious diced vegetables and their fries were delivered in little baskets and they certainly looked better cooked than ours. Bottom line, the food was less than spectacular and we felt very much like 2nd or 3rd class guests. With the plethora of other fine eating establishments around, spend your money and time elsewhere."

This was an awful place! The staff were not interested in serving us, the choice of menu was very limited so we left! Walk further up the road to Arezzo

We stopped here for dinner as a party of four. We sat at a table outside which provided a great place to people watch. The menu selection was not that large but what we ordered was served within a reasonable time and was tasty. A nice place to relax, chill out and enjoy the atmosphere.

We ate for the second time in Place Jean Jaures and this was in a different class to nearby competitors. An interesting menu, good friendly service and well prepared dishes.Grilled melon and tomato salad or a delicious rare tuna with a herby crust to start; calamari and steak and chips to follow. Decent wines. A very pleasant reasonable meal. Speisekarte ansehen

This restaurant combines good food with excellent service, not too formal, and tourist friendly. There is a set menu, plenty of choice of traditional French cooking done really well. I had a wonderful fish main course, and the desserts were beautiful. The café gourmand was a revelation: coffee served with several mini desserts. Thought I had died and gone to heaven. Waiter spoke English, tolerated our questions amd and dithering with good humour. Fabulous.

We eat here nearly every time we visit Montpellier and have never had a bad meal. The restaurant is in Place Jean Jaures which is a nice open space with trees in a pedestrianised area of the town. It has many restaurants and shops and a great place to people watch! This time we both chose to eat a salad. One was with prawns and smoked salmon and the other with duck breast and warm goats cheese on olive bread. Both were delicious with very fresh salad leaves. We had a carafe of rosé. The staff are always helpful. It is a very busy and enjoyable place to eat.

Visited for lunch on a hot day after failing to get served in a nearby café. My wife and I were pressed for time as our car parking time was running out. We were seated on the terrasse and both ordered the plat de jour (which was le plat de marché as it was market day by the aqueduct). The dish was supreme de pintade with chevre and aubergine). The meal was superb and great value and was served by a charming lady. The goat cheese was like a foam and the aubergine was cooked in three different ways - one of which was a deep fried slice. We had bread and tap water and we both enjoyed our choice. Speisekarte ansehen

We live near Montpellier for over 12 years and know the city centre well, especially this pretty square which is sunny and relaxed with bars and bistros.Sadly, we experienced our worst ever lunch we have ever had last week in this lovely town, at this restaurant. The entree was a terrine which was not cooked and the sauce was really disgusting, followed by a 'croustian d'agneau' probably de frosted, with a salad (roughly chopped tomato, salad leaves). The waitress was pleasant but when the second 'plat' was over half an hour late we were ready to leave ! This was not mid summer when the town is full of tourists, but a mid week sunny day - no excuse for delays - may be a bad day for the chef? bu...

I was in Montpellier, together with a couple of French friends that live in Uzès, to see the Bazille exhibition at Musèe Febre. As it was nearing lunch time we decided to eat first. It was a lovely sunny Sunday so we walked up Rue de la Loge, the main shopping street, to Place Jean Jaurès where there are several cafes and restaurants, the majority with outdoor seating on the square.Le Tre Bouchon was the busiest and the food being served looked very appetizing. The friendly waiter showed us to a table in the sun, which we had requested. It being mid-October, it was warmer sitting in the sun we wanted to enjoy it before the onset of winter. We were tempted by the lunch menu, with a choice of t...

"Not our first visit and certainly not the last. The quality of service and food was exceptional, as always. From the mouthing (prepared especially for me by the chef Renaldo because I am a vegetarian) to the desserts everything is delicious, blend of exceptional flavors, Ronaldo certainly knows what he does. Each dish is presented exquisitely using plant-grown fillings around the restaurant. My wife started with home-made foie gras that she said delicious and that constituted a good portion. For a vegetarian, this restaurant is excellent with options on each dish that have been carefully designed by the chef and not only added afterwards, unusual for France but great to have such an excellent choice. At each visit, we note that the chef has added seasonal dishes and today has no exception. The asparagus blown was excellent with a delicious salad. My wife and father-in-law tried to blow him to the lobsters who didn't disappoint. For the sweets my companions returned to the blown Rhum and Grand Marinier that we had tasted previously while I tested a new offer of white and raspberry chocolate blown accompanied by a yusu jam, cultivated on a tree in the restaurant! It was delicious, so much so that my wife ate half of mine (but I had some of her cold blown in return). The restaurant is well presented, with the chef's wife in charge. It has a sense of design that makes it a pleasant environment to eat. Today, we had freshly cut lilies that looked simply beautiful. Finally, I couldn't finish the criticism without mentioning Jean Luc, the most excellent server that balances professionalism and friendliness and always has interesting stories to tell (in English and French, easily alternating). The blown cannot be pressed, so there can be a short waiting while they are freshly prepared, but you will not notice the time that passes with Jean Luc who provides the service. Thanks to Chief Renaldo and your team for another great experience, we'll be back."

"We walked cheerfully but still the tight legs. Scruting, envious, wandering canids relieved on city lighting. When suddenly, pointed by God, appeared his Creation. A pleasant terrace, slipped beyond our eyelids, in our peripheral vision, a terrasa, my faith well humble in appearance but very motivating for our poor echelons.. Our muscular thighs banded (like the pmu race horses) to engage in the pin turn to our right. This terasse sucked the presence of a bobo loft lighted with neon. We rub shoulders when we saw the surrounding. What was not our surprise, coupled with a chagrining despair when we lived standing in front of us, comparable to a powerful erection rod, a wall, similar to that of Berlin before 89 small historical staline 4 ever. Then, our necks in a waltzing and dizzying dildo to our communist left. We felt it in our hearts, such as the apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary, affuched with a halo of divine light: The Bockale. Drained against us. We understood that it was The Place. So we broke up like the Eels of GENERATION PÊCHE, in the midst of an attempt to accede to the Holy Place, nothing could stop us. Once the door is carefully closed behind us, we felt in perfect symbiosis with time and the place, the more question of dragging! The throne was waiting for us in its complexly complete fatality. God disposed of the Blessed Parchment, from which we seized ourselves after the imanquable filth, how satisfying! In turn we cut the place with fervour and passion. Following this, we smear our manual tools and then split into English. Without a regret, however, all times, the heart filled with melancholy... Special mention to the panel 'Drunck people crossing' was, I quote: funny tarpiiiiing! As we say in our home. Cordially, two potential future clients. <3"
