First place we stopped off for some food while in Paris. The wait staff was good, but had a hard time with translation (not their fault). Food came out fast and was good, and location cant be beat.

Sympathische Brasserie mit Terrasse. Freundliche Bedienung. Der Gazpacho hatte etwas viel Knoblauch, exzellentes Tartar. Auch die gegrillte Sole war sehr zart und frisch. In unmittelbarer Nähe zur Metrostation Vavin.

We had a good dinner. the terrace is pleasant. There was a jazz orchestra just in front who played extremely well. I would have put a better note if the servers were a little more attentive. we had to claim about five or six times the basket of bread Speisekarte ansehen

We had just arrived in Paris after an all night flight where we could not sleep. Despite being exhausted, we wanted our first dinner to be at an authentic Brasserie and our hotel recommended walking the few blocks to La Rotonde. We were seated in the lovely upstairs dining room that was more private and full of locals. The service was very attentive, the food was outstanding and just what we wanted. The price was mid-range and we felt appreciated.

Fazit: zu teuer für zu wenig Frühstück.Wir waren hier zum Frühstück. Es gab ein Croissant für 2,50€ und einen Tee bzw. Kaffee für je 5€. Der Kaffee war zwar sehr gut, aber ein "Frühstück" für zwei Leute (2 Croissants, zwei Kaffee und ein Tee) für 20€ ist deutlich zu teuer und macht nicht lange satt. Außen standen Formules (eine Arte Menü) angeschlagen. Dort sollte ein Kaffee + Croissant 5€ kosten, uns wurde jedoch alles einzeln berechnet. Sehr schade und ein Grund, diesen Ort für den Rest unserer Reise nicht mehr aufzusuchen.

After eating at several other Cafe's in the 6th district, we went to Le Rotonde. Crowded, noisy and tight tables, love it, typical Paris Cafe. Ordered a bottle of Red Vin, waiter dropped it off on the table and left. No pour, no acknowledgement. Ordered Onion Soup, Tasty but on the cold side. Ordered the Steak from the daily menu, ordered Medium Rare. The 2 inch by 4 inch piece of meat arrived alone on the plate, seared black on the outside and **** on the inside, not even rare but raw. The Fries that came with the "Steak" were the best of the meal. I cut the "Steak" and tried to chew a piece, it was the toughest piece of meat I have ever tried to eat.
