"The restaurant review begins with a sign saying "wanted customers," which sets the scene for what is to come. Despite the grubby interior, the diners still hoped for good food. However, they were disappointed. The service was below average, with the husband's pie arriving five minutes after his vegetables. The lasagna was unlike any they had ever seen, with no pasta sheets, just bolognaise covered in cheese. The dish was overly greasy and unpleasant. They were not offered a child's menu, even though they had a child with them. Overall, the experience was appalling in every aspect. It was clear that the restaurant needed to improve in order to attract more customers."

Decided to give Pie Night a go. The pastry top and filling was lovely but sadly on the bottom and sides of the pie the pastry was raw. I brought this to the attention of the waitress who had a word with the chef who...

We had lunch here today and it was absolutely delicious. I had the steak and ale pie and my husband had the fish and chips. Only problem was despite not being able to finish the main course I still didn't have room for dessert. My...

A group of 8 of us ate here on the Saturday night weekend of the Queen's Jubilee. We ate inside, but there was lots of music and activity outside in celebration of the Queen. We chose this pub because it was within walking distance...

We had the takeaway from here a few weeks ago and it was absolutely faultless. Food was piping hot, tasty and good value. The collection from the pub was efficient and the couple running it were very friendly. We will be using them again tonight!

I recently had a Sunday roast at this restaurant as part of a group of 10 people. I often dine out for Sunday lunch in the area, and this was one of the best I've ever had! The service was excellent, the food was incredibly delicious, and I highly recommend it. The wine was also reasonably priced.

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch at this restaurant! Our group of 12, spanning from babies to pensioners, enjoyed delicious food in generous portions. The cauliflower cheese and homemade Yorkshire pudding were highlights. The service was efficient and friendly, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate our group. The pub was clean and welcoming, and we especially enjoyed the enclosed sunny garden. We will definitely be returning in the future!

We called in for drinks. The pub was pretty but we were quite shocked by the staffing. The place seems to be run by teenagers and we did not feel very comfortable by their behaviour. They were in and out behind the bar, playing their own music loudly and generally treating the place like a youth club. This is our second such experience here and we will not be returning any time soon. There was not one adult around! I feel as if the pub has really gone downhill. Such a shame.

"with my friend written on a september Saturday, in the middle of a short break in the cotswolds. very warm and friendly greeting from barman / renter and maid serve (berry we have no names! , especially from the pub-dog molly. nice to see a detached house still, with a few good hand pumps ales on (I had the lamb bitter together with a decent selection of gas cocks. decoration and feeling creates the seemingly popular 'shabby chic'/pseudo old world country style with mixed / interesting used furniture and right (for me! 'classical pub' feeling. I'm not a big fan of pubs to Gastro/Faux land to be more city/city and new (ish country types, but then I got on 'proper' rural/empty from nowhere to kneipen with mud on the floors, no heating and gents loos at least 3 fields away, so that the lamb good to move with the times and still keep me happy to go? it is a hard business and people, including bar and waiting staff, need to make a living. sae in superdog friendly multi-level gardens, and some people just there for a few drinks, so good to see a mix of drink and eater welcome. I had the 'cracked pork' burger, the super tasty pork was a crispy peking style, my partner a generous caesar salat with excellent sardels. all in, a crisp independent old pub in a beautiful village, give a warm and friendly welcome to the trade as well as local, catering for walkers and dogs in an attractively furnished pub served right beer and really good eating. if something could be improved, a few lighter, simple items like a traditional ploughman 's or a few sandwiches on the lunch menu I would surely go down a storm, especially for walker/cycists, but everything in big things long can be successful!"
